Զորավար Անդրանիկը հորդորում էր. «Ամեն օր գլուխներդ բարձին դնելուց և քնանալուց առաջ հիշեք, թե այդ օրը ինչ եք արել ձեր ազգի համար»: Նա, ով իր ազգի համար արել է ամենն, ինչ կարող էր, դեռ մի բան էլ՝ ավելին, տեղ ուներ հորդորելու: Բայց ո՞վ ու որքանո՞վ է «հորդորվել» կամ «հորդորված»: Այ, նայում ես, ինչ­որ կառավարության նիստ է: Եթե կուզեք՝ կառավարության ինչ­որ նիստ է: Ու՝ ի՞նչ: Նրանցից քանի՞սը գլուխը բարձին դնելուց և քնելուց առաջ կարող է հաշվետու լինել առ այն, թե այդ օրն ինչ է արել հայ ազգի համար: Չնայած՝ ումից ինչ ենք սպասում...

Նրանք հիմա հանգի՜ստ նիստ են անում՝ իրենք իրենց հասարակական ­քաղաքական կարգավիճակների վրա զարմացած, ինչ­որ հարցեր են քննարկում՝ լուրջ-­լուրջ տեսքերով ու թանկ­-թանկ կոստյումների մեջ հարմարավետ տեղավորված: Իրենց մեծ-­մեծ պարգևավճարներով տնատեր դարձած՝ թոշակառուներին մի երկու-­երեք հազար դրամ են «փրթել» ու առիթ-­անառիթ «երեսով են տալիս», տեղն եկած տեղը՝ մուննաթ են գալիս: Տո հենց զայրանում էլ են, թե՝ «աղքատությունը ձեր գլուխների մեջ է»: Ու ապրում, նստում, ելնում, խոսում, շնչում­-արտաշնչում են այնպես, ասես... ոչինչ էլ չի պատահել: Չի՞ պատահել: Ոչի՞նչ: Իսկ հազարավոր զոհե՞րը: Իսկ թշնամուն հանձնված Հադրո՞ւթը, Քարվաճա՞ռը, Քաշաթա՞ղը: Իսկ մնացա՞ծ կորուստները:

Իսկ Շուշի՞ն ու հենց այս պահին, ինչպես ասվում է՝ «ռեալ ժամանակի ռեժիմում» մզկիթի վերածվող Ղազանչեցո՞ցը: Իսկ Արցախի ներկա վիճա՞կը, Արցախից ձեռքները լվանա՞լը: Ոչինչ չի՞ պատահել: Ու դրանք դեռ այդ կառավարության, այդ իշխանության բոլոր «ձեռքբերումները» չեն: Ելնում ես փողոց: Շոգ է: Նայում ես: Այնպիսի տպավորություն է, որ մարդկանց գլխավոր խնդիրը, նրանց հուզող հիմնական հարցը այն է, թե «տանը մնացած» ծիրանն ի՞նչ անել. ջեմի տակ դնե՞լ, թե՞ չրի: Գնում են, գալիս են, առնում են, վաճառում: Սակարկում են: Ապրում են: Այնպես, ասես... ոչինչ էլ չի պատահել: Հասկանո՞ւմ եք՝ ոչինչ: Մեկն ասում էր, չէ՞, թե՝ ձեր երեխաները «ոչնչի համար են զոհվել»:

Մինչ այդ գիտեինք, հավատում էինք, որ մեր լուսավոր տղաները հանուն Հայրենիքի են զոհվել, հանուն իրենց հարազատների, իրենց ծնողների, իրենց եղբայրների ու քույրերի, զորավար Անդրանիկի ասած՝ իրենց ազգի՝ խաղաղ ու անվտանգ ապրելու են զոհվել: Բայց մեկն եկավ ու ասաց՝ Հայրենիքը ոչինչ է, փաստորեն, ու զոհվել են... ոչնչի համար: Պարզ է մեկ բան. հասարակությունները, որոնք օրհասի պայմաններում ապրում են այնպես, ասես... ոչինչ չի պատահել, իրականում չեն ապրում: Մահանում են: Կուշտ կամ կիսաքաղց, հնարավոր է՝ ծիրանաչրի ձմեռվա պաշար կուտակած: Բայց չեն ապրում: Գլուխներդ բարձին դնելուց առաջ... Չնայած, չէ՛, մի էլ հիշեք, թե չէ՝ չեք քնի:
