Միայն այս տարվա հունվարին աֆրիկյան 10 երկրներում գրանցվել է խոլերայի 26 հազար դեպք և մահվան 700 դեպք. այս հիվանդության՝ այլ երկրներ տարածվելու վտանգը շատ մեծ է: «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ այս մասին Ժնևում կայացած ճեպազրույցում հայտարարել է Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպության (ԱՀԿ) աֆրիկյան բյուրոյի ներկայացուցիչ Ֆիոնա Բրական։

«Այս տարվա առաջին չորս շաբաթվա ընթացքում ԱՀԿ-ի Աֆրիկայի տարածաշրջանի 10 երկրներ հաղորդել են հիվանդության ավելի քան 26 հազար դեպքի և մահվան 700 դեպքի մասին, ինչը գրեթե կրկնակի գերազանցում է 2023 թվականի այդ նույն ժամանակահատվածում գրանցված դեպքերի թիվը», - ԱՀԿ-ի ներկայացուցչի խոսքերն է մեջբերում «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի» գործակալությունը:

Բրական հավելել է, որ ներկայում բռնկումներ են դիտվում Զամբիայում, Զիմբաբվեում, Մոզամբիկում, Տանզանիայում, Կոնգոյի Դեմոկրատական Հանրապետությունում, Եթովպիայում և Նիգերիայում։

«Առկա է այլ երկրներում հիվանդության հետագա տարածման մեծ վտանգ, հատկապես վարակի փոխանցման այս պիկային սեզոնի ընթացքում», - ընդգծել է ԱՀԿ-ի ներկայացուցիչը:

Խոլերան սուր վարակիչ հիվանդություն է, որը փոխանցվում է վարակված սննդամթերքի կամ ջրի՝ օրգանիզմ թափանցելու միջոցով: Խոլերան կարող է առաջացնել ծանր, սուր ջրային լուծ, իսկ այս հիվանդության ծանր ձևը բուժման բացակայության դեպքում կարող է մի քանի ժամ անց մահվան ելքով ավարտվել:
