В Сирии открылись участки для голосования на выборах в парламент

Свыше 8 тыс. участков для голосования на выборах в Народный совет (однопалатный парламент) открылись в 07:00 по местному времени в Дамаске и других городах Сирии.

Как сообщили в Высшем судебном комитете по контролю за выборами (избирательный комитет), борьбу за 250 депутатских мест ведут 1 516 кандидатов, которые представляют все регионы страны. Согласно прогнозам, состав парламента может обновиться более чем на 50% по итогам голосования.

Фаворитом выступает коалиция «Национальное единство», победившая на выборах в 2020 году. В ее список включены 168 кандидатов от правящей Партии арабского социалистического возрождения (ПАСВ) и 16 от союзных с ней организаций из Прогрессивного национального фронта. Президент республики Башар Асад является генеральным секретарем ПАСВ, пришедшей к власти 8 марта 1963 года.

Процесс народного волеизъявления проходит в большинстве сирийских регионов. Для жителей Идлиба и пограничных районов с Турцией, находящихся вне контроля правительственных сил, организованы свыше 70 избирательных участков в соседних провинциях Алеппо, Латакия и Хама. Еще 90 участков выделены для голосования перемещенных лиц из провинции Ракка, которую удерживают курдские формирования.
