Իսրայելի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Իսրայել Կացը հայտարարել է, որ Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը կարող է կրկնել Իրաքի ղեկավար Սադամ Հուսեյնի ճակատագիրը. նա ղեկավարել է Իրաքը 1979-2003 թվականներին, իսկ 2006 թվականին մահապատժի է ենթարկվել։

Նախարարն այս հայտարարությունն արել է՝ ի պատասխան Թուրքիայի ղեկավարի երեկվա հայտարարության այն մասին, որ «Թուրքիան կարող է մտնել Իսրայել, ինչպես որ արել է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում և Լիբիայում»:

«Էրդողանը գնում է Սադամ Հուսեյնի հետքերով և սպառնում է հարձակվել Իսրայելի վրա։ Պարզապես հիշեցրեք նրան, թե ինչ կատարվեց այնտեղ՝ Իրաքում, և դա ինչպես ավարտվեց»,- գրել է Կացը X-ում:

Նա իր գրառումը ուղեկցել է երկու լուսանկարից բաղկացած ֆոտոկոլաժով. մեկում Էրդողանն է՝ արևային ակնոցներով և Պաղեստինի և Թուրքիայի դրոշների գույներով շարֆով, մյուսում Հուսեյնը՝ երկար մորուքով և գզգզված մազերով։ Երկրորդ լուսանկարն արվել է 2003 թվականին՝ ամերիկացի զինվորականների կողմից մինչ այդ տապալված Հուսեյնին բռնելուց անմիջապես հետո։

Ավելի վաղ Էրդողանը հայտարարել էր, որ Թուրքիան կարող է մտնել Իսրայել այնպես, ինչպես ժամանակին մտել է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղ և Լիբիա։ Նրա կարծիքով, թուրքերը «պարզապես պետք է ուժեղ լինեն նման քայլերի համար»։

«Ինչպես մենք մտանք Ղարաբաղ ու Լիբիա, նույն կերպ կարող ենք մտնել Իսրայել։ Չկա պատճառ, թե ինչու մենք չպետք է դա անենք», - ասել էր նա:
