«Վրացական երազանք» կուսակցության տարբեր հակաժողովրդավարական գործողությունները խախտել են ԱՄՆ-Վրաստան ռազմավարական գործընկերության հիմնական դրույթները. որպես հետևանք՝ Միացյալ Նահանգները դադարեցրել է այս մեխանիզմը. այս մասին ասված է ԱՄՆ Պետդեպարտամենտի խոսնակ Մեթյու Միլլերի հայտարարության մեջ։

Մեթյու Միլլերը կոչ է արել Վրաստանի կառավարությանը վերադառնալ եվրատլանտյան ուղուն, թափանցիկ հետաքննել խորհրդարանական ընտրությունների բոլոր խախտումները և չեղարկել հավաքների և արտահայտվելու ազատությունները սահմանափակող հակաժողովրդավարական օրենքները:

««Վրացական երազանք»-ի՝ ԵՄ-ին Վրաստանի անդամակցության գործընթացը կասեցնելու որոշումը հակասում է Վրաստանի ժողովրդին տրված և սահմանադրությամբ ամրագրված խոստումին՝ հետամուտ լինել Եվրամիությանը և ՆԱՏՕ-ին լիակատար ինտեգրմանը։ Կասեցնելով ԵՄ-ին Վրաստանի անդամակցության գործընթացը՝ «Վրացական երազանք»-ը մերժել է Եվրոպայի հետ ավելի սերտ կապերի հնարավորությունը և Վրաստանն ավելի խոցելի է դարձրել Կրեմլի համար։

Վրաստանի ժողովուրդը ճնշող մեծամասնությամբ աջակցում է Եվրոպայի հետ ինտեգրմանը։ Միացյալ Նահանգները դատապարտում է ոստիկանության կողմից ուժի չափից ավելի կիրառումը վրացիների նկատմամբ, որոնք ձգտում են օգտվել հավաքների և արտահայտվելու իրենց իրավունքներից, ներառյալ խաղաղ բողոքի ցույցերի ազատությունը: Մենք կոչ ենք անում բոլոր կողմերին ապահովել, որ բողոքի ակցիաները խաղաղ մնան», - ասվում է հայտարարության մեջ:

Վրաստանի վարչապետ Իրակլի Կոբախիձեն հինգշաբթի հայտարարել է, որ երկրի իշխանությունները որոշել են մինչև 2028 թվականի վերջ օրակարգ չդնել ԵՄ-ի հետ անդամակցության շուրջ բանակցություններ սկսելու և ԵՄ-ից բյուջետային դրամաշնորհներ ընդունելու հարցը։ Դրանից հետո երկրում խոշոր բողոքի ակցիաներ են տեղի ունեցել, որոնք ուղեկցվել են ոստիկանների հետ բախումներով, ջրցան մեքենաների կիրառմամբ:
