ԱՄՆ նորընտիր նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը շարունակում է «թրոլլինգի» ենթարկել Կանադայի հետ կապված թեման՝ հայտարարելով, որ ԱՄՆ-ի հյուսիսային հարևանի բնակիչներից շատերը ցանկանում են ներառվել Միացյալ Նահանգների կազմում: Այս մասին գրում է Fox News-ը:

Truth Social սոցկայքում արված հրապարակման մեջ Թրամփը, մասնավորապես, գրել է.«Ոչ ոք չի կարող պատասխանել, թե ինչու ենք մենք սուբսիդավորում Կանադային տարեկան ավելի քան 100,000,000 դոլարի չափով: Դա անհեթեթ է: Շատ կանադացիներ ցանկանում են, որ Կանադան դառնա ԱՄՆ-ի 51-րդ նահանգը: Դրա շնորհիվ նրանք խոշոր խնայողություն կանեն հարկերի և ռազմական պաշտպանության հարցերում»:

Վերջերս ԱՄՆ նորընտիր նախագահը Կանադայի վարչապետ Ջասթին Թրյուդոյին անվանել էր «Կանադայի մեծ նահանգի նահանգապետ».  հանրապետականն այս գրառումն արել էր երկու երկրների միջև մաքսատուրքերի հնարավոր ներդրման շուրջ տարաձայնությունների ֆոնին։

«Հաճելի էր օրերս ընթրել Կանադայի մեծ նահանգի նահանգապետ Ջասթին Թրյուդոյի հետ: Ես անհամբեր սպասում եմ նահանգապետին շուտով կրկին տեսնելու, որպեսզի մենք շարունակենք մեր խորը բանակցությունները մաքսատուրքերի և առևտրի վերաբերյալ, որոնց արդյունքներն իսկապես տպավորիչ կլինեն բոլորի համար», - գրել էր նա:

Ավելի վաղ Թրամփը հայտարարել էր, որ Կանադան և Մեքսիկան պետք է դառնան Միացյալ Նահանգների մաս, եթե ցանկանում են շարունակել օգնություն ստանալ Վաշինգտոնից:

«Մենք սուբսիդավորում ենք Կանադային տարեկան ավելի քան 100 միլիարդ դոլարով: Մենք սուբսիդավորում ենք Մեքսիկային գրեթե 300 մլրդ դոլարով: Ինչո՞ւ մենք պետք է դա անենք: Թող սուբսիդիաների փոխարեն նրանք դառնան նոր նահանգներ»,- ասել է Թրամփը։

Նա, ըստ երևույթին, նկատի է ունեցել այս երկրների հետ ԱՄՆ առևտրային դեֆիցիտը, սակայն Թրամփը, ըստ աղբյուրի, ուռճացրել է թվերը: Ըստ ԱՄՆ պաշտոնական տվյալների՝ ապրանքների և ծառայությունների առևտրային դեֆիցիտը Կանադայի հետ կազմել է մոտ 41 միլիարդ դոլար, իսկ Մեքսիկայի հետ՝ ավելի քան 162 միլիարդ դոլար:

Թրամփը սպառնացել է 25 տոկոս մաքսատուրք սահմանել Կանադայից և Մեքսիկայից ներկրվող ապրանքների վրա, եթե երկրները չնվազեցնեն միգրանտների և թմրանյութերի հոսքը դեպի ԱՄՆ։
