Վրաստանի վարչապետ Իրակլի Կոբախիձեն բաց նամակ է գրել Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփին և փոխնախագահ Ջեյ Դի Վենսին։ Ինչպես նշում է 1tv.ge-ն, նամակում նա նշում է, որ մի քանի շաբաթ առաջ Թրամփին և Վենսին գրել էր վրաց-ամերիկյան հարաբերությունների մասին, սակայն մինչ այժմ նամակին ոչ մի արձագանք և հրապարակային հայտարարություններ չեն հետևել։

«Այս լռությունը զարմացնում է վրաց ժողովրդին և Վրաստանի կառավարությանը մի քանի պատճառով.

Նախ՝ Վրաստանը երկար տարիներ եղել է ԱՄՆ-ի ամենավստահելի գործընկերը մեր բարդ տարածաշրջանում, որը ռազմավարական նշանակություն ունի ԱՄՆ-ի համար։ Վրաստանն աջակցում էր ԱՄՆ-ին ամենաթեժ կետերում, այդ թվում՝ Իրաքում և Աֆղանստանում, որտեղ մեկ շնչին ընկնող վրացական զորքերի թիվն ամենամեծն էր...

Հատկապես կարևոր է այն, որ եթե նայենք մեր կառավարության և ձեր վարչակազմի հրապարակային հռետորաբանությանը, ապա ապշեցուցիչ է մեր տեսակետների արժեքների և գաղափարախոսության լիակատար համընկնումը։ Մենք մի քանի տարի բացահայտ խոսում էինք «խորքային պետության»-ի, USAID-ի, Ժողովրդավարության ազգային հիմնադրամի և այլ համապատասխան կառույցների հանցավոր գործունեության մասին, նախքան ձեր կողմից նույնատիպ հայտարարություններ անելը։

Մենք բոլորովին միանման կարծիքներ ունենք ուկրաինական պատերազմի, գենդերային և ԼԳԲՏ քարոզչության և շատ այլ հարցերի վերաբերյալ։

Նման արժեքավոր և գաղափարական մերձեցման ֆոնին վրաց ժողովուրդն ի սկզբանե ակնկալում էր, որ Վրաստանը կդառնա առաջին երկրներից մեկը, որի նկատմամբ ձեր վարչակազմը հատուկ հետաքրքրություն կցուցաբերի։ Դուք նման հետաքրքրություն ցուցաբերեցիք Ռումինիայի և Գերմանիայի նկատմամբ, որտեղ եվրոպական բյուրոկրատիայի աջակցությամբ ոչ ժողովրդավարական գործողություններ էին իրականացվում։ Սակայն, ի զարմանս վրաց ժողովրդի և մեզ, դուք մինչ օրս նման ուշադրություն չեք ցուցաբերել Վրաստանի նկատմամբ»,- ասված է նամակում։ 

Այնուամենայնիվ Կոբախիձեն հույս է հայտնել, որ վրացական կողմը դեռ լավատես է և հուսով է, որ Թրամփի վարչակազմի ընդդիմանալը «խորքային պետությանը» անկեղծ է և կավարտվի դրա  պարտությամբ։

«Վրաստանի կառավարությունը համբերատար սպասում է այս պահին, որը պետք է հիմք հանդիսանա վրաց-ամերիկյան հարաբերությունների վերագործարկման և մեր երկրների միջև ռազմավարական գործընկերության վերականգնման համար», - ասված է բաց նամակում։
