Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու դեմ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի զազրելի արշավը համախմբել է եկեղեցականներին, ու ոչ միայն Հայաստանում։ Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո Կաթողիկոսությունը, Պոլսո հայոց պատրիարքարանը ևս դատապարտել են Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի արշավը Գարեգին Բ կաթողիկոսի դեմ, նաև կասեցրել նրա սադրանքները։ Պոլսի հայոց պատրիարք Սահակ արքեպիսկոպոս Մաշալյանն, օրինակ, նշել է, թե որոշ շրջանակներ խոսում են «նոր կաթողիկոս» ընտրելու մասին և իր անունն է շրջանառվում որպես թեկնածու։ Ավելորդ խոսակցությունները կանխարգելելու համար պատրիարքը նշել է, թե ներկայիս մեր Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը Գարեգին Բ. Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո Կաթողիկոսությունն էլ զորակցել է Ամենայն հայոց կաթողիկոսությանը՝ մերժելով նրա դեմ կատարված որևէ ոտնձգություն։ Այդ մասին նշվել է Արամ Ա. կաթողիկոսի նախագահությամբ Անթիլիասի Մայրավանքում կայացած Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո Կաթողիկոսության Ազգային կենտրոնական վարչության կրոնական ու քաղաքական ժողովների լիակատար նիստի ժամանակ։

Իշխանության սադրանքների դեմ մի արշավ էլ իրավաբաններն են սկսել, երեկ կայացած հավաքում Մայր Աթոռի դիվանապետ Արշակ արքեպիսկոպոս Խաչատրյանը նշել է, թե իշխանությունների հետ առողջ բանավեճի հնարավորությունն, ըստ էության, սպառված է։ «Եկեղեցու նկատմամբ իշխանությունների ոտնձգությունը, հակաեկեղեցական արշավն առաջին անգամ չէ, որ տեղի է ունենում, բայց, կարծում եմ, նմանօրինակ գործողություններն այլևս հատել են խելամտության բոլոր սահմանները։ Առողջ բանավեճի հնարավորությունն, ըստ էության, սպառված է։ Կարծում եմ՝ խիստ անհրաժեշտ և գնահատելի է, որ իրավաբանները մտադիր են այդ գործողություններին իրավական գնահատական տալ։ Մենք, որպես սովորական մարդիկ, առերևույթ այդ գործողությունները գնահատում ենք ուղղակի հանցավոր, սանձարձակ, անթույլատրելի, հանրությանը պառակտող»,- ասել է նա։

Աննախադեպ այս համախմբումը Մայր Աթոռի և Գարեգին Բ կաթողիկոսի շուրջ արդեն իսկ իր պտուղները տալիս է, Փաշինյանը զարմանալիորեն լռել է, իսկ նրա կողմնակիցներն էլ, թերևս, վախենում են խոսել՝ հասկանալով, որ դրանով միայն խորացնելու են իրենց վիճակը։
