Հայաստանում տեղի են ունենում արդեն ամենօրյա հարվածներ եկեղեցու, հավատքի և ազգային ինքնության դեմ։ Հովհաննավանքում անցկացված կեղծ պատարագը, որտեղ վարչապետը հայտնվեց իր ողջ թիմով, ընկալվեց որպես իշխանական ուժի ցուցադրություն՝ «մենք այստեղ ենք, ամեն ինչ մեր վերահսկողության տակ է» տրամաբանությամբ։

Սա վերջին ամիսներին եկեղեցու դեմ իրականացվող հստակ քաղաքական գծի վերջնախաղն է։ Կառավարամետ շրջանակները փորձում են ներկայացնել, թե եկեղեցին խոչընդոտում է «նոր պետության կառուցմանը»։ Բայց իրականում՝ իշխանությունը փորձում է սրբազան դաշտը դարձնել քաղաքական գործիք, իսկ հոգևորականներին՝ ենթարկվող կառույցի մաս։

Հենց այս համատեքստում է տեղավորվում նաև Սամվել Կարապետյանի ձերբակալումը։ Նա կանգնած էր եկեղեցու պաշտպանների շարքերում, և նրա կալանքը հստակ ուղերձ է․ «եթե պաշտպանում եք եկեղեցին, ձեր դեմ գործեր կսկսվեն»։ Սա միայն մեկ մարդու դեմ քայլ չէ, սա վախեցնելու մեթոդ է բոլոր նրանց համար, ովքեր դեռ պատրաստ են բարձրաձայնել եկեղեցու մասին։

Եկեղեցին միշտ եղել է մեր ազգային ինքնության հիմնասյունը։ Երբ պետությունը փլուզվել է, երբ բանակը կորցրել է դիրքերը, երբ ժողովուրդը ճնշման տակ է եղել, եկեղեցին մնացել է որպես հենարան։ Հիմա փորձ է արվում նույնիսկ այդ վերջին հենասյունը դնել վերահսկողության տակ, որպեսզի ժողովուրդը ոչ մի տեղ չգտնի վստահություն ու հենարան իշխանության դեմ խոսելու համար։

Այսօրվա պատկերն արդեն պարզ է․ պատարագները վերածվում են քաղաքական բեմադրությունների, իսկ եկեղեցու պաշտպաններին նստեցնում են բանտեր։ Սա այլևս հավատքի հարց չէ․ սա պետական քաղաքականություն է՝ ուղղված դեպի հոգևոր դաշտի նվաճում։

Մնում է մեկ հարց․ ժողովուրդը կգնա՞ իշխանության թելադրած «լուռ եկեղեցու» ճանապարհով, թե՞ կպահպանի այն որպես իր ուժի աղբյուր․ դա արդեն կորոշի ոչ թե դատարանը, այլ հասարակության արձագանքը։
