pravda.ru–ն «Հոգևոր պատերազմ Հայաստանում» վերնագրով հոդվածում գրում է, որ Մոսկվայի և Համայն Ռուսիո Կիրիլ պատրիարքի խորհրդական, ավագ քահանա Նիկոլայ Բալաշովը «ՌԻԱ Նովոստիին» տված հարցազրույցում մտահոգություն է հայտնել Հայաստանի իշխանությունների գործողությունների վերաբերյալ, որոնք, նրա կարծիքով, մեղադրելով և սպառնալով Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցուն՝ գերազանցում են իրենց լիազորությունները: Նա նաև ընդգծել է, որ երկրի ժողովուրդը խոր հարգանք է տածում այդ հաստատության նկատմամբ և երբեք Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին չի պատվիրակել իրականացնել կամայական փոփոխություններ Եկեղեցու կառուցվածքում: Հիշեցնենք, որ վերջերս խորհրդարանում ունեցած ելույթի ժամանակ վարչապետը, նշելով որոշ եկեղեցիներում «հոգևոր գործունեության» բացակայությունը, սպառնացել էր Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցուց բռնագրավել պետական սեփականության եկեղեցական շենքերը, որոնք անվճար նվիրաբերվել են Եկեղեցուն: Որպես օրինակ նա նշել էր Հովհաննավանքը, որտեղ ծառայել էր քահանա Արամ Ասատրյանը, անձ, որը կարգալույծ է արվել Ամենայն հայոց կաթողիկոս Գարեգին Բ-ի կողմից լուրջ չարաշահումների և Եկեղեցու հեղինակությանը վնաս հասցնելու համար:

Բալաշովը նշել է, որ Փաշինյանը նաև կասկածի տակ է դրել Գարեգին Բ-ի՝ որպես հոգևոր առաջնորդի կարգավիճակը և ուղղակիորեն մեղադրել է Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու Ռուսաստանի և Նոր Նախիջևանի թեմի առաջնորդ Եզրաս արքեպիսկոպոսին ՊԱԿ-ի հետ կապեր ունենալու մեջ: Քահանայի խոսքով, նման քայլերը, այդ թվում՝ հոգևորականների հետապնդումները, ձերբակալությունները և գույքի բռնագրավման սպառնալիքները, ստեղծում են ազգային հոգևոր արժեքների վրա նպատակային հարձակման տպավորություն, և դրա հետևում կարող են լինել արտաքին ազդեցություններ, քանի որ նման նախաձեռնությունները հակասում են հայ հասարակության տրամադրություններին:

Գործակալության զրուցակիցը հիշեցրել է նաև իրավական նորմերը. ըստ Հայաստանի Սահմանադրության, կրոնական կազմակերպությունները ինքնավար և անջատ են կառավարությունից, և քաղաքական միջամտությունը նրանց ներքին գործերին անընդունելի է: Վարչապետը, որպես աշխարհիկ կառավարության ներկայացուցիչ, իրավունք չունի թելադրել եկեղեցական կյանքի կանոններ: Նման հայտարարություններն ու սպառնալիքները, նրա խոսքով, խախտում են սահմանադրական շրջանակները, այդ թվում՝ կրոնի ազատության մասով:

Եզրափակելով՝ Բալաշովը մեջբերել է պատմական փորձը. հավատքն ու Եկեղեցին խաթարելու փորձերը միշտ ձախողվել են, իսկ դրանք նախաձեռնողների ճակատին թողել են խարան: Պետությունը պարտավոր է հարգել Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու դերը՝ որպես ազգային հենասյուն հայ ժողովրդի մշակույթի և ինքնության պահպանման գործում։
