Ալբերտո Ջակոմետիի կողմից Էլզա Սկիապարելիի համար ստեղծված երկու յուրօրինակ կոճակները զգալիորեն գերազանցեցին սպասումները Լոնդոնի Bonhams աճուրդում։ Դրանք վաճառվեցին համապատասխանաբար՝ 28,160 և 33,280 ֆունտ ստեռլինգով, չնայած սկզբնական գնահատականին, որը կազմում էր ընդամենը 5,000-8,000 ֆունտ ստեռլինգ։

Այս կոճակները զարդարված են Giacometti-ի հայտնի «Femme aux Bras Levés» ստեղծագործության մանրանկարչական տարբերակով՝ մերկ կին բարձրացված ձեռքերով։ Schiaparelli-ն դրանք օգտագործել է Մարլեն Դիտրիխի համար պատրաստված վերարկուի վրա, որտեղ կոճակները ոսկեզօծվել և տեղադրվել են կրծքավանդակին։

Գոյություն ունի միայն հինգ նման կոճակ. մեկը պահվում է Նյու Յորքի Արվեստի և դիզայնի թանգարանում, մյուսը՝ Փարիզի Comité Giacometti-ում, իսկ երեքը դեռևս կպցված են Դիտրիխի բնօրինակ վերարկուին՝ Բեռլինի Deutsches Filmmuseum-ում։

Ջակոմետին և Սկիապարելին հանդիպել են 1930-ականների սկզբին ինտերիերի դիզայներ Ժան-Միշել Ֆրանկի միջոցով և մնացել են ողջ կյանքի ընկերներ։ Ջակոմետին ստեղծել է զարդեր ոչ միայն Սկիապարելիի արվեստանոցի համար, այլև իր անձնական տան համար։ Հատկապես հետաքրքիր են մանրանկարչական արձանիկները՝ բարձրացված ձեռքերով և դիցաբանական մոտիվներով, որոնք կատարվել են սահմանափակ քանակությամբ։

Սկիապարելին միշտ ձգտել է համատեղել նորաձևությունն ու արվեստը՝ համագործակցելով նկարիչների հետ և պատվիրելով զարդեր, կրծքազարդեր և կոճակներ իր նկարիչ ընկերներից, այդ թվում՝ Ժան Կոկտոյից, Սալվադոր Դալիից, Լեոնոր Ֆինիից և Ման Ռեյից։

Եվ սա ընդամենը նախաբան է Վիկտորիայի և Ալբերտի թանգարանում հաջորդ տարի բացվող գլխավոր ցուցահանդեսի համար։ «Սկիապարելի. Նորաձևությունը դառնում է արվեստ» ցուցահանդեսը կգործի մարտի 28-ից մինչև նոյեմբերի 1-ը և կլինի Մեծ Բրիտանիայում դիզայներին նվիրված առաջին ցուցահանդեսը։
