Քիչ առաջ ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը մերժեց ինձ տրամադրել ԱՄՆ մուտքի արտոնագիր: Ընդ որում, դա կատարվեց տարօրինակ կերպով՝ խախտելով էթիկայի բոլոր նորմերը: Թերևս դեսպանատուն չդիմեի, եթե իմանայի, թե ինչպիսի ստորացուցիչ գործողությունների շղթա է դա ենթադրում:
Նախ մուծում ես բավականին կլորիկ գումար, ընդ որում՝ անվերադարձ, լրացնում ես ստանդարտ թղթեր, քեզ հրավիրում են հարցազրույցի: Քեզ հետ պետք է տանես փաստաթղթեր, որով կապացուցես, որ ԱՄՆ-ում մնալու մտադրություն չունես՝ ունեցվածքդ, դրամական միջոցներդ, զբաղեցրած պաշտոնդ և այլն:Եվ այդպես, վերոնշյալ ընթացակարգով ինձ հետ տարա իմ ամբողջ շարժական և անշարժ գույքի վկայականները, բանկային խնայողություններիս մասին տեղեկանքը, աշխատանքի վայրը և եկամուտներս ֆիքսող փաստաթղթեր, ինձ և իմ ընտանիքին պատկանող բիզնեսների վերաբերյալ փաստաթղթեր, մի խոսքով՝ անհրաժեշտ ամեն ինչ: Հարկ է նշել, որ այդ ամենին տիրապետող անձը յանկիների երկրում մնալու որևէ պատճառ չպետք է ունենա, իսկ ինձ մերժող դեղնակտուց կոնսուլը, թերևս, կերազեր տիրապետել այդ ամբողջի տաս տոկոսին, մինչդեռ հրավիրելով հարցազրույցի՝ մարտնչող համասեքսուալի դեմքով այդ տղեկը անգամ չբարեհաճեց այդ փաստաթղթերը ուսումնասիրել: Հարցազրույցը տևեց մոտ 40 վայրկյան, թարգմանչուհին այնքան վատ էր թարգմանում իմ խոսքերը, որ ես իմ ուդմուրտոանգլերենով անգամ փորձում էի շտկումներ անել: Այդ ընթացքում ընդամենը հասցրեցի ներկայացնել այցիս նպատակը, և երբ փորձեցի ներկայացնել փաստաթղթերիս տրցակը՝ անչափահաս կոնսուլը փոխանցեց, որ ինձ չի կարող տրամադրել մուտքի արտոնագիր...
Այս ամենը շատ հետաքրքիր էր ԱՄՆ քաղաքացիների համար ՀՀ մուտքի արտոնագիրը վերացնելու ֆոնին: Մերժելը հասկացանք, բայց նվազագույն հարգանք է թերևս պետք մարդկանց նկատմամբ և պարտավոր եք գոնե ուսումնասիրել այն փաստաթղթերը, որոնք ներկայացվում են ձեր պահանջով: Այսպիսի անհեթեթ աշխատաոճ երբեք չեմ պատկերացրել:Դեսպան Հեֆերնը թերևս պարտավոր է բացատրություններ տալ, թե ինչ իրավունքով են կարևորագույն գործերով ԱՄՆ մեկնող քաղաքացիները արժանանում այդպիսի քամահարանքի: Ուրիշ առիթներով, պարոն դեսպան, մեծ-մեծ խոսում էիք հարգալից հարաբերությունների և երկու երկրների քաղաքացիների փոխադարձ այցելությունները դյուրացնելու մասին...Առավել նախընտրելի է՝ մի դյուրացրեք, այլ սովորեք էթիկայի տարրական կանոններ...Վարուժան Բաբաջանյան
