Президент Турции Реджеп Тайип Эрдоган подверг критике ЕС, который осудил задержание турецких журналистов в воскресенье.
В воскресенье в результате рейдов турецкой полиции были задержаны 27 человек. Среди них главный редактор крупной турецкой газеты Zaman Экрем Думанлы, глава медиагруппы Samanyolu Хидайет Караджа, продюсеры телеканала Samanyolu TV Салих Аслан и Энгин Коч, сценарист телевизионных программ Макбуле Чам, а также бывший глава Стамбульского департамента полиции по борьбе с терроризмом Туфан Эргюдер и старшие офицеры полиции 13 провинций. В письменном заявлении главного прокурора Стамбула Хади Салихоглу задержанные обвиняются в "создании террористической организации, подлоге и клевете". В понедельник четверо задержанных были освобождены.
Глава дипломатии ЕС Федерика Могерини и еврокомиссар по европейской политике соседства и переговорам по расширению Йоханнес Хан опубликовали совместное заявление, в котором осудили задержание журналистов в Турции.
"Мы не упадем на колени и не примиримся с теми, кто лживыми новостями пытаются сбить Турцию с пути. Сейчас происходит процесс нормализации, мы сеем семена новой Турции, и те, кто хочет повернуть ее вспять, будут получать от нас ответ. Пусть ЕС занимается своими делами и не ищет поводов вмешиваться в наши действия против угроз национальной безопасности", — заявил Эрдоган, выступая в городе Коджаэли на северо-западе Турции. Он добавил, что расследование ведется независимыми прокурорами в соответствии с законами Турции.
