Министерство обороны США скрывает видеозаписи, на которых запечатлены ужасные издевательства над заключенными в тюрьме ЦРУ "Абу-Грейб" в Ираке. Об этом сообщает интернет-издание TheAntiMedia со ссылкой наисточники.
По словам известного американского журналиста Сеймура Херша, до сих пор не все, что происходило в тюрьме "Абу-Грейб", стало достоянием общественности. На прошлой неделе Херш выступил в Американском союзе защиты гражданских свобод и рассказал, что американские военные насиловали мальчиков и подростков на глазах у их матерей и снимали все это на камеру.
"Молодых людей подвергали акту содомии и снимали это на видео, и самое страшное - это их крики. Вот так воюет наше правительство", - заявил правозащитник. В своей речи он обвинил Администрацию США в пособничестве сокрытию военных преступлений.
TheAntiMedia напоминает, что 10 лет назад издание The Guardian приводило показания бывшего узника тюрьмы "Абу-Грейба", который якобы был свидетелем похожих издевательств американских военнослужащих. Бывший заключенный по имени Касим Хилас утверждал, что видел, как американский военный насиловал иракского юношу в одной из камер, а все происходящее фотографировала женщина-солдат.
"Теперь, спустя десятилетие, доказательства этих ужасных событий начинают всплывать на поверхность, но Пентагон по-прежнему делает все возможное, чтобы скрыть их", - отмечает издание.
Тюрьма "Абу-Грейб" располагалась недалеко от Багдада. После свержения Саддама Хусейна американцы превратили ее в место содержания иракцев, обвиненных в совершении преступлений, направленных против сил западной коалиции.
Самый громкий скандал вокруг тюрьмы разразился в апреле 2004 года, когда на канале CBS был показан сюжет о пытках и издевательствах над заключенными "Абу-Грейба" группой американских солдат. Согласно показаниям ряда заключенных, американские солдаты насиловали их, ездили на них верхом, заставляли вылавливать еду из тюремных туалетов.
Позже 12 военнослужащих Вооруженных сил США были признаны виновными по обвинениям, связанным с инцидентами в тюрьме "Абу-Грейб". Они получили различные сроки тюремного заключения. Вины в произошедшем высокопоставленных сотрудников Пентагона следствием установлено не было.
