Տխրահռչակ Ջոն Հեֆերնի՝ Հայաստանը լքելու հետ կապված, ուզում եմ մի թեթև հետադարձ հայացք նետել նրա գործունեությանը՝ փորձելով մտաբերել գոնե հիշարժան դրվագները:Ասեմ, որ դրանք այդքան էլ շատ չեն, մասնավորապես՝ Կարֆուրի մասին թվիթերյան գրառումներ, Հայաստանում հակապետական և ազգային արժեքների դեմ գործունեություն ծավալողներին աջակցություն, ինչպես նաև հակահայկական բնույթի հայտարարություններ: Հատկապես արժանահիշատակ է ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահ Ջեյմս Ուորլիքի՝ Արցախի 7 շրջանները Ադրբեջանին վերադարձնելու վերաբերյալ հակահայկական հայտարարության մասին Հեֆերնի արտահայտած կարծիքը, որով նա պաշտպանել է Ուորլիքի տեսակետը:
Հակահայկականության այս դրսևորումը, բնականաբար, պետք է իր զարգացումն ունենար և ավելի ուշ, երբ Ադրբեջանի կողմից սահմանում տեղի ունեցան հերթական դիվերսիոն գործողությունները և հրադադարի խախտումը: Այս դեպքում էլ Հեֆերնը հետ չմնաց միջազգային այլ կառույցներից, նա նույնպես իր հայտարարությունում կոչ արեց երկու կողմերին ցուցաբերել զսպվածություն, կարծես թե հրադադարի խախտումը երկու կողմի մեղքով էր:
Իհարկե, դիվանագիտական այս նենգ խաղերը ոչ ոքի համար էլ նորություն չեն, ինչպես նաև չի կարող նորություն լինել ԱՄՆ ներկայացուցչի հակահայկական դիրքորոշումը, այն էլ` Հայաստանի ԵՏՄ անդակացության ուղին ընտրելու դեպքում: Չմոռանանք, որ Ղրիմի հանրաքվեի արդյունքները Հայաստանի կողմից ճանաչվելու կապակցությամբ էլ էր տխրահռչակն իր ցավը հայտնել, և այդ ցավը, փաստորեն, գնալով խորացավ՝ վերածվելով հակահայկականության և ադրբեջանասիրության: Հրաժեշտի իր ասուլիսն ադրբեջանասիրության դրսևորման կուլմինացիոն պահն էր Հեֆերնի համար. նա բացահայտ ասաց, որ կցանականար Բաքվում դեսպան աշխատել՝ այդպիսով բարձրաձայնելով իր կրքոտ սերը Հայաստանի հետ թշնամական հարաբերությունների մեջ գտնվող պետության նկատմամբ:
