Աշխարհում առաջին ինագուրացիան տեղի է ունեցել 1789թ. ապրիլի 30-ին` Նյու-Յորքում, առաջին երդվող նախագահը Ջորջ Վաշինգթոնն էր:
ՀՀ-ում առաջին երդմնակալության արարողության ժամանակ՝ 1991թ. նոյեմբերի 11-ին, Հայաստանը դեռ չուներ Սահմանադրություն, և որոշվեց ընտրել որևէ խորհրդանիշ: Մատենադարանից բերվեց հայկական հնագույն ամբողջական ձեռագիրը` 7-րդ դարի Վեհամոր ավետարանը: ՀՀ առաջին նախագահ Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանը երդվեց` աջը Վեհամոր ավետարանին դրած:
Աշխարհում ամենադիտված երդմնակալության արարողությունը եղել է 2009թ. հունվարի 20-ին, երբ իր պարտականությունների կատարմանն էր անցնում Բարաք Օբաման: Առաջին աֆրոամերիկացի նախագահի երդման արարողությանը հետևեց 1 միլիոն 800 հազար մարդ:
Երդման արարողությունից հետո ամենաանհաջող պարահանդեսը եղավ ԱՄՆ 18-րդ նախագահ Ուլիսս Գրանտի երդումից հետո: Բոլոր ցանկացողներին տեղավորելու համար ժամանակավոր շինություն էր կառուցվել, բայց եղանակը այնքան ցուրտ էր և ջեռուցումն այնքան թույլ, որ հյուրերը ստիպված էին պարել վերարկուներով ու գլխարկներով, իսկ դեղձանիկները, որ պետք է իրենց դայլայլով զարդարեին պարահանդեսը, ցրտից սատկեցին:
Ամենակարճ երդման խոսքը ասել է ԱՄՆ առաջին նախագահ Ջորջ Վաշինգտոնը՝ 135 բառ: Իսկ Ուիլյամ Հարրիսոնը 1841թ. խոսեց երկու ժամ, սակայն կառավարեց ամենակարճը՝ իր երդման արարողության ժամանակ մրսեց, հիվանդացավ թոքաբորբով և մեկ ամիս անց մահացավ:
Բելառուսի նախագահ Ալեքսանդր Լուկաշենկոն սխալմամբ իրեն անվանել էր Ռուսաստանի առաջին նախագահ, և ԶԼՄ-ները տարածեցին, թե այդ թյուրիմացությունը տեղի է ունեցել նրա չորրորդ ինաուգուրացիայի ժամանակ: Սակայն հետագայում պարզվեց, որ այդ տեսանյութը տեղադրվել է համացանցում երդումից երկու ամիս առաջ:
2013թ. փետրվարի 25-ին տեղի ունեցած Հարավային Կորեայի առաջին կին նախագահի՝ Պակ Կին Խեի երդմնակալությանը մասնակցեց 70 հազար մարդ, ելույթ ունեցավ Psy ռեփերը՝ երգելով հայտնի «Gangnam Style»-ը:
