2015 թվականին Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը հասավ մի սահմանագծի, որի հաղթահարման համար ընթացել էր ավելի քան 20 տարի: Դեռ ավելին, կամայական այդ սահամանագծին հասնելու համար պետությունն ընթացել է մեկը մյուսին հաջորդող դժվարամատչելի փուլերով: Այս կոնտեքստում, որքան էլ որ զավեշտական չհնչի, որոշակի ընդհանուր գծեր կարելի է անցկացնել Հայաստանի ներկայիս իրավիճակի և փիլիսոփայական մտքի խոշորագույն ներկայացուցիչներից մեկի՝ Սոկրատեսի, կյանքի և գործունեության միջև:
Ինչպես գիտենք, Սոկրատեսը, չնայած իր մեծագույն գիտական վաստակի առկայությանը, ի վերջո մահապատժի ենթարկվեց: Առաջին հայացքից կարող է թվալ, որ այդ մահապատիժն արդյունք էր էպիզոդիկ մի իրավիճակի, բայց, իրականում կարելի է փաստել, որ Սոկրատեսն իր կյանքի ամբողջ ընթացքում ամեն ինչ արեց, որ մահապատժի ենթարկվի:
Մի շարք վերլուծաբաններ հայտնում են այն տեսակետը, որ Գյումրիում տեղի ունեցած ոճրագործության արդյունքում պետական կառավարման համակարգը, մեղմ ասած, շարքից դուրս եկավ: Այս կոնտեքստում իրավացիորեն կարելի է դնել հետևյալ հարցադրումը.

Անգամ ոչ մասնագիտական ուսումնասիրությունները փաստում են, որ պետության ոչ ադեկվատ կեցվածքը ուղղակիորեն կապված է ոչ թե տվյալ էպիզոդի յուրահատկության հետ, այլ ընդհակառակը՝ այդ քաոսային իրավիճակը շարունակվել և արմատացել է տարիներ շարունակ, պարզապես համեմատաբար հանդարտ կամ բթացված իրավիճակում հասարակական լայն շրջանակների համար նկատելի չի եղել: Իսկ նմանատիպ արտակարգ իրավիճակներում, երբ կարծես թե լուսավորվում է յուրաքանչյուր մութ անկյուն, պարզ է դառնում, որ մեքենան 7 օրում շարքից դուրս չի գալիս, այլ պարզապես այն արտադրվել է գործարանային թերություններով և խլացել է ամենապատասխանատու պահին:
Կարող ենք փաստել, որ իրավիճակը շտկելու համար եղել են բազում հնարավորություններ, բայց, ինչպես տեսնում ենք, Հայաստանը 20 տարիների ընթացքում ոչ միայն չի շտկել իրավիճակը, այլ,Սոկրատեսի խորհդանշական օրինակի համաձայն, ամեն ինչ արել է, որ իրեն մահապատժի ենթարկեն: Օր օրի խորացող ռուսական հպատակությունը ոչ այլ ինչ է, եթե ոչ մահապատիժ, որն իմ խորին համոզմամբ անխուսափելի է:
Իսկ ամենաողբերգականը թերևս այն է, որ մահապատժի դատապարտված համակարգը, կամա թե ակամա, իր հետ կախաղան է բարձրացնում նաև մի ամբողջ պետություն:
