Հունվարի 12-ին Գյումրիում տեղի ունեցած դաժան սպանությունը դեռ շարունակում է շոկային իրավիճակի մեջ պահել ողջ հայ ազգին: Ավետիսյանների ընտանիքի բառի բուն իմաստով ոչնչացումը թերեւս ամենաուժեղ հարվածներից մեկն էր, որը երբեւէ հնարավոր էր հասցնել Ցեղասպանության 100-ամյակին ընդառաջ:
Երեկ հողին հանձնվեց մարդասպանի հարվածներից հրաշքով փրկված փոքրիկ Սերյոժան, որի կյանքը, ցավոք, այդպես էլ հնարավոր չեղավ փրկել: Թե ի՞նչ էր կատարվում Գյումրիում փոքրիկին հրաժեշտ տալու ժամանակ, եւ ովքեր էին ներկա հուղարկավորության արարողությանը, Orer.am-ը ճշտեց ԱԺ «Ժառանգություն» խմբակցության քարտուղար Թեւան Պողոսյանից. «Գյումրի էինք գնացել «Ժառանգության» խմբակցության անդամներով, սակայն այնտեղ էին ՀՀԿ, ԲՀԿ, ՀՅԴ խմբակցությունների ներկայացուցիչներից շատերը, ինչպես նաեւ անկախ պատգամավորներ: Ինձ թվում է՝ ամեն մեկն իր խղճի հանգստության համար էր եկել: Ցավում եմ, որ սուգ չհայտարարվեց, եւ դա չդարձավ պետական մոտեցման խնդիր: Չնայած այդ ամենին՝ մեզանից յուրաքանչյուրը իր սրտի կոչով էր գնացել այնտեղ ու կանգնել գյումրեցիների կողքին: Այնտեղ էինք ցույց տալու համար, որ բոլորս մեկ մարդու պես իրար կողքի ենք, պատրաստ ենք մեր ազգի շահերը պաշտպանելու, մեր պահանջները ներկայացնելու, գյումրեցիների կողմից առաջ քաշված հարցերին հետամուտ լինելու, պաշտպանելու, մինչեւ վերջ պայքարելու եւ պարտադրելու, որ այս քրեական գործի քննությունն ամբողջովին անց կացնի հայկական կողմը:
Ուզում ենք, որ գործն ամբողջությամբ քննելուց հետո նա կանգնի հայկական դատարանի առջեւ, որքան էլ որ ասում են, թե վերջնական որոշված է՝ սույն գործը քննվելու է ռուսների կողմից: Ես համարում եմ, որ աշխարհում անհնարին բան չկա: Այսօր էլ որոշ խոսակցություններ են շրջանառվում այն պայմանագրի մասին, թե ռուսական ռազմաբազան գտնվում է ՀՀ տարածքում: Սակայն վիճելի խնդիրների դեպքում հնարավոր է համատեղ հանձնաժողով ձեւավորվի եւ քննարկվի հարցը: Ներկայումս հայկական կողմը պետք է նախաձեռնի հանձնաժողովի ստեղծումը եւ բոլոր հարցերն այնտեղ բարձրացնի: Հասկանալի է, որ իրավական դաշտի մեջ հարցերի քննարկումները կունենան տարբեր վիճելի խնդիրներ, միգուցե հանձնաժողովը կդառնա այն հարթակը որտեղ քաղաքական որոշում կկայացվի, դրա համար համարում եմ, որ պետք է պահանջատեր լինել»:
Բացի իրավական հարթության մեջ հարցի կարգավորումից՝ Թեւան Պողոսյանը նշեց նաեւ գյումրեցիների անկոտրում կամքի մասին՝ ավելացնելով, որ տեղի բնակիչները պայքարելու են մինչեւ վերջ. «Երեկ սուգ էր, կար էմոցիա, կար տխրություն: Մարդկանց աչքերին նայելով ու մարդկանց հետ շփվելով՝ հասկանում էինք, որ իրենք կոտրված չեն ու պատրաստ են շարունակել իրենց պայքարը: Ինչպես մեկ անգամ տեր կանգնեցին հարցին՝ որպես պետական արժանապատվության խնդիր, այդպես էլ կշարունակեն: Մենք մեկս մյուսին օժանդակելով պետք է հասնենք մեր երկրի շահերի եւ հանրության պահանջների բավարարմանը»:
