Ընդհանրապես, երբ խնդիր ունենք ճանաչելու որևէ հասարակության սոցիալական բնութագիրը, պատկերացում կազմելու այդտեղ տիրող բարոյահոգեբանական մթնոլորտի, սոցիալ-տնտեսական հարաբերությունների, քաղաքական անցուդարձի մասին, ապա հաճախ ավելի նպատակահարմար է ուսումնասիրել ոչ թե այդ հասարակության հաջողվածների տեսակին, այլ նրանց, թե ովքեր են հայտնվել լուսանցքում, այսինքն` մերժված են, մեկուսացված են հասարակությունից, կամ այլ կերպ` ովքեր են գտնվում տվյալ հասարակության` մարդուն մեկուսացնող ինստիտուտներում` բանտերում, հոգեբուժարաններում, գաղութներում և այլն:
Այս իմաստով` մեր հասարակության սոցիոմշակութային պատկերը ամենևին էլ լավատեսություն չի ներշնչում: Բանն այն է, որ մեր արդարատության համակարգը կարող է խստագույնս պատժել միգուցե անզգուշությամբ հանցանք կատարած, բայց ամենևին էլ ոչ հանցագործ մտավորականին: Եվ միևնույն ժամանակ թույլ տալ, որ քրեական հայտնի անցյալ ունեցողները ազատորեն շրջեն պետականություն ունեցող ու, այսպես կոչված, ինքնավար պետության տարածքում: Ու դեռ դա էլ քիչ չէ` մեր արդարատության համակարգը անգամ կարող է հանդուրժել, որ հանցավոր կենսագրություն ունեցող անձինք ոչ միայն չլինեն իրենց համար նախատեսված վայրերում` բանտերում և գաղութներում, այլև անգամ ինչ-ինչ սոցիալական, տնտեսական ու, ամենացավալին, քաղաքական հարցեր լուծեն:
Առաջին հայացքից կարող է թվալ, որ խնդիրը վերաբերում է բացարձակապես արդարատության համակարգին, բայց դա միայն առաջին հայացքից: Իրականում խնդիրը վերաբերում է մեզ բոլորիս: Մեր հասարակության մոտ մի այսպիսի ձևավորված ավանդույթ կա` պատեհ-անպատեհ առիթներով մեր իսկ հասարակության բոլոր մեղքերը բարդել այս կամ այն պետական ինստիտուտի կամ քաղաքական խմբի վրա: Բայց ախր այդ նույն քաղաքական գործիչները, այդ նույն պետական մարմինները, այդ նույն հանցավոր աշխարհի ներկայացուցիչները, այդ նույն մտավորականները դուրս են գալիս մեր ժողովրդի ծոցից և հեղինակություն են ստանում մեր հասարակության պատերի ներսում: Հասարակությունն է, որ հեղինակություն է տալիս այս կամ այն մարդու անձնավորությանը, կշիռ է տալիս վերջինիս խոսքին, գնահատական` գործին: Իսկ «հասարակություն» նշանակում է մենք, ամեն մեկս: Եթե մենք կարող ենք հանդուրժել իսկապես մտավորականի, այսինքն` մարդու, ով ունի ոչ միայն սուր միտք, վարպետություն, այլև ամենակարևորը` խիղճ, հասարակությունից միգուցե օրինական, բայց ոչ արդարացի մեկուսացումը, իսկ հարևան «թաղային հեղինակություն» կոչվածին, վախից կամ մեկ այլ խիստ մարդկային բնազդից ելնելով, ակնածանքով վերաբերվել ու համակերպվել վերջինիս` փողոցներում ազատ թափառելու, բոլորի` հանգիստ կյանք վարելու իրավունքը խաթարելու հանգամանքի հետ, ապա էլ ումից ենք նեղանում կամ ումից ինչ ենք պահանջում:
Եթե մեկն էլ կա, որ մեղավոր է մեր` շատերի կողմից «թշվառություն» որակվող հասարակական կարգերի ու տիրող բարքերի համար, ապա դա հենց մենք ենք` ամեն մեկս:
Մեղավոր է մեր այն մտածող կեսը, որը հասկանում է, բայց քանի որ հասկանում է, ուստի նաև վախենում է:
