Մարդու իրավունքների եվրոպական դատարանը (ՄԻԵԴ) «Գյունդալիք Ազերբայջան» և «Ռեալնի Ազերբայջան» թերթերի նախկին աշխատակից, ռազմական փորձագետ Ուզեիր Ջաֆարովի բողոքի վերաբերյալ որոշում է ընդունել:
Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, Եվրոպական դատարանի կայքում հրապարակված տեղեկության համաձայն' «Ջաֆարովն Ադրբեջանի դեմ» գործով հիմվելով Եվրոպայի մարդու իրավունքների համաձայնագրի 3-րդ հոդվածի վրա (խոշտանգումների արգելք), ՄԻԵԴ-ը հայտնել է, որ Ադրբեջանը խախտել է Համաձայնագրի' «Ազատ արտահայտվելու և ապրելու իրավունք», «Արդարացի դատ չանցկացնելու» հոդվածները, և վճռել, որ Ադրբեջանի կառավարությունը պետք է 10 հազար եվրո վճարի Ուզեիր Ջաֆարովին բարոյական վնաս հասցնելու և 4 հազար եվրո՝ դատարանի ծախսերը փոխհատուցելու համար:
2007 թվականին վերոհիշյալ թերթերի թղթակից Ու. Ջաֆարովը դաժան ծեծի է ենթարկվել ադրբեջանական բանակում առկա խնդիրների, Ադրբեջանի պաշտպանության նախարարության կողմից թաքցվող մարդկային մեծ կորուստների վերաբերյալ քննադատական հոդվածներ հրապարակելու համար: Փաստի առնչությամբ քրեական գործ է հարուցվել, սակայն հետաքննությունը մինչև վերջ չի տարվել, և ոչ ոք այդ հանցագործության համար չի պատժվել: Ոստիկանության անգործության դեմ Ու. Ջաֆարովի բողոքները դատարանների կողմից չեն բավարարվել, և այդ պատճառով նա դիմել է ՄԻԵԴ:
