Внушительное здание легендарного лондонского Музея мадам Тюссо выставлено на продажу за 300 млн фунтов стерлингов ($450 млн) владельцем недвижимости предпринимателем Ником Лесло. Об этом сообщает газета Financial Times.
Здание одной из самых привлекательных туристических достопримечательностей мегаполиса было арендовано компанией Merlin Entertainments на 27 лет. Арендаторы ежегодно выплачивали владельцу примерно 15,5 млн фунтов ($22,5 млн) без учета уровня инфляции.
Merlin Entertainments, активы которой оцениваются в 4 млрд фунтов ($6 млрд) владеет 20 музеями мадам Тюссо по всему миру, в том числе в Шанхае, Пекине и Сингапуре.
По свидетельству экспертов, популярность лондонского Музея мадам Тюссо продолжает расти. В середине мая экспозиция пополнится фигурами персонажей из "Звездных войн" ("Star Wars"). В "аттракционе для туристов" появятся 11 различных сцен. Посетители смогут побывать на палубе космического корабля "Тысячелетний сокол" (Millennium Falcon), подержать световой меч. Всего будет представлено 16 фигур стоимостью 2,5 млн фунтов ($3,76 млн). По словам директора Merlin Entertainments Дэвида Шарпа, новая выставка даст мощный импульс лондонской туристической экономике. "Смотр станет еще одной достопримечательностью Лондона", - считает Шарп.
