Գարեգին Բ-ի միլիոններն ակամայից ինձ հիշեցրին Հայոց պատմության մի շատ հետաքրքիր դրվագ:
Տիրան թագավորի և Հուսիկ կաթողիկոսի փոխհարաբերություններն այն աստիճան էին սրվել, որ նույնիսկ հայրապետը թույլ չէր տալիս նրան մուտք գործել եկեղեցի: Արդյունքում, Հուսիկը, բրածեծ արվելով սպանվում է, իսկ Լուսավորչի տոհմը հեռացվում է կաթողիկոսական գահից:
Պատմիչները վկայում են, որ հակամարտության պատճառն, իբրև թե, Տիրանի հեռացումն էր «ճշմարիտ հավատքից»՝ Քրիստոնեությունից, բայց պատմագիտական շրջանակների համար միանշանակորեն ակնհայտ է, որ նման դաժանագույն սպանության հիմքում կարող են ընկած լինել միայն լրջագույն քաղաքական պատճառներ. եկեղեցին վերածվելով նոր՝ ավատատիրական հասարակարգի խոշորագույն շահագործողներից կամ ավատատերերից մեկի, իր կալվածքներով և քաղաքական հնարավորություններով այլևս չէր զիջում թագավորին: Հոգևորականությունը նույնիսկ կարողանում էր միջամտել պետության ներքին և արտաքին գործերին՝ մեծ ազդեցություն ունենալով քաղաքական որոշումների ընդունման վրա: Կենտրոնախույս ուժերի դեմ պայքարող արքան, անշուշտ, չէր կարող համակերպվել նման իրավիճակի հետ:
Վերադառնալով արդիականություն՝ իրավացիորեն կարող ենք դնել հետևյալ հարցադրումը.
Ճիշտ է, ըստ էության, քաղաքակիրթ համարվող Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում ընդունված չէ մարդկանց բրածեծ անելով սպանելը, բայց, եթե Վեհափառը սրբություն սրբոց Սահմանադրությունից առավել բարձր դիրքերում է, մի՞թե շարքային քաղաքացին ունի այլ ելք:
Բազմիցս նշել ենք, որ եկեղեցին կտրված է ժողովրդի հասարակական, սոցիալական իրականությունից և ոչ մի կերպ չի կարողանում կամ չի ուզում արձագանքել իր հոտի առջև դրված մարտահրավերներին: Ընդհակառակը, 40 տոկոս աղքատության պայմաններում մեկը մյուսի հետևից վեր են խոյանում ճարտարապետական ոչ այնքան մեծ արժեք ներկայացնող եկեղեցիներ, սա ոչ այլ ինչ է, եթե ոչ՝ խրախճանք ժանտախտի ժամանակ:
Քիչ չեն դեպքերը, երբ պետության գիտական կորիզը համարվող ֆիզիկոսները մեկենաս չգտնելու պատճառով չեն կարողացել հրատարակել իրենց գիտական աշխատությունները կամ կյանքի կոչել այդքան պահանջված գիտական գյուտերը, որոնք, ըստ էության, պետք է լինեին նավթ և գազ չունեցող փոքրիկ Հայաստանի զարգացման առաջնային հենակետերը: Իսկ եկեղեցին՝ անհաշվելի թվաքանակով, հրատարակում է հասարակության լայն շրջանակների համար ոչ այնքան անհրաժեշտ աստվածաբանական երկեր, աղոթագրքեր և այլն:
Ինչ վերաբերում է մոմավաճառությանը, ապա Առաքելական եկեղեցու ոչ մի հետևորդի պարտադրված չէ ամեն անգամ եկեղեցի գնալուց մոմ վառել: Դա պարզապես սովորույթ է և չունի որևէ դավանաբանական հենք, իսկ եկեղեցու համար, ինչպես տեսնում ենք, գերշահույթներ է ապահովվում:
Թերևս, այս թեմայի շուրջ երկար կարելի է խոսել, հատկապես «Բենթլի» նախընտրող հոգևորականների վերաբերյալ, բայց սահմանափակվենք այսքանով:
Միայն նշենք, որ պետության բնականոն զարգացումն ապահովելու նպատակով, առաջնային բարեփոխումներից մեկը պետք է լինի եկեղեցուն հարկային դաշտ մտցնելը, միայն այդ ճանապարհով կարելի է կանխել հայրապետական միլիոնների անկանոն շրջապտույտները:
