Հայտնի իտալացի հոգեբույժ Չեզարե Լոմբրոզոն ասում էր, որ «խանգարվածները դա նույն հանճարներն են, որոնք պարզապես չեն կարողանում արտահայտել իրենց մտքերը»: Ասում են, որ հանճարից մինչև խանգարված ընդամենը մի քայլ է: Քիչ չեն դեպքերը, երբ հանճարները տառապել են հոգեկան խանգարումներով: Orer.am-ը դիտարկում է հայտնի դեպքերից մի քանիսը: Աբրահամ Լինկոլն Պատմաբանները նշում են, որ ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահը տառապել է դեպրեսիայով, հաճախ էր լացում և մի քանի անգամ նույնիսկ ինքնասպանության փորձ է արել: Էռնեստ Հեմինգուեյ  Նա նույնպես հոգեկան առողջության հետ լուրջ խնդիրներ ուներ: Ինչպես արվեստագետների մեծ մասը՝ նա տառապում էր խրոնիկական ալկոհոլիզմով: Սակայն նրա մոտ առկա էին նաև այլ խանգարումներ՝ բիպոլյար փսիխոզից ու գլխուղեզի վնասվածքից մինչև անձի նարցիսական խանգարում: Վինսենտ Վան Գոգ Գաղտնիք չէ, որ նա նույնպես ունեցել է հոգեկան խնդիրներ: Ասում են, որ բիպոլյար-աֆեկտիվ խանգարումն է եղել պատճառը, որ նա կտրել է իր ականջը: Վան Գոգը շատ էր օգտագործում աբսենտ, որի պատճառով նրա մոտ առաջանում էին տեսիլքներ էպիլեպտիկ ցնցումներ: Նույն խնդիրները ունեցել է նաև Լյուդվիգ վան Բեթհովենը: Էդգար Ալան Պո Որոշ մասնագետների կարծիքով նրա մոտ եղել է ցնորազառանցանքային խանգարում: 1849 թ. հոկտեմբերին Պոյին գտան փողոցում զառանցելիս, ով չէր կարողանում պատասխանել այն հարցին, թե ոնց էր այդտեղ հայտնվել: Հաջորդ օրը նա մահացավ հիվանդանոցում: Ալֆրեդ Նոբել Տաֆոֆոբիայով (կենդանի թաղվելու վախ) տառապում էր ոչ միայն Նիկոլայ Գոգոլը, այլև «Նոբելյան մրցանակի» հիմնադիրը: Իմիջիայլոց, Նոբելի հայրը համարվում էր, այսպես կոչված, «ապահով դագաղի» ստեղծողը, ով նույնպես ուներ տաֆոֆոբիա: Կենդանի թաղվելուց վախում էին նաև Արթուր Շոպենհաուերը, Մարինա Ցվետաևան: Սերգեյ Եսենին Նրան անըդհատ թվում էր, որ իր շուրջը բոլորը չարախոսում են իրենից: Եսենինի կենսագրության ուսումնասիրողներից մի քանիսը պնդում են, որ նա ունեցել է բիպոլյար-աֆեկտիվ խանգարում (մանիակալ-դեպրեսիվ փսիխոզ), ինքնասպանության հակվածություն, որը բարդեցված էր ժառանգական ալկոհոլիզմով: Նիկոլա Տեսլա  Այս հանճարի մոտ նույնպես նկատվում էին տարօրինակություններ: Նա ուներ ամեն ինչը մինչև վերջին հասցնելու մանիա: Այսպես՝ քոլեջում նա որոշեց, որ պետք է կարդա Վոլտերի գրքերը և, չնայած որ նրան դուր չեկավ հեղինակը, այնուամենայնիվ, նա կարդաց բոլոր 100 հատորները: Նա սարսափում էր կանացի մազերից, ականջօղերից, մարգարիտներից և ոչ մի անգամ սեղան չէր նստում կանանց հետ: Պատրաստեց՝  Նարեկ Ստեփանյանը
