Հարավային Հոսքգազատարի կառուցումից հրաժարվելը բացասական ազդեցություն կունենա ծրագրի մասնակից երկրների տնտեսության վրա. այսպիսին են հարցման արդյունքները, որոնք անցկացվել են ՙՍպուտնիկ. Կարծիքներ՚ ծրագրի շրջանակներում՝ ՙՌուսաստանն այսօր՚ զանգվածային լրատվական գործակալության ու բրիտանական հայտնի ICM Reseacrh հետազոտական ընկերության հետ համատեղ: Հարցումը կատարվել է 2015-ի հունվարի 12-30-ը Բուլղարիայում, Սերբիայում և Ավստրիայում: Հարցմանը մասնակցել է մոտ 3000 մարդ ՝ տարբեր սեռի, տարիքի ու աշխարհագրական դիրքով: Հարցման շրջանակներում վերոնշյալ երկրների բնակիչները պատասխանել են այն հարցին, թե կկարողանա՞ն արդյոք ԵՄ-ի երկրները մոտ ապագայում փոխհատուցել բնական գազի ծավալները, որ նախապես ներդրվել են Հարավային հոսք ծրագրի շրջանակներում, և հարցվածների մեծ մասը ՝ մոտ 39 տոկոսը, բացասական պատասխան է տվել:
«Sputnik-Արմենիա» ռադիոկայանին տված հարցազրույցում մեկնաբանելով հարցման տվյալները, քաղաքագետ Սերգեյ Մինասյանը կարծիք է հայտնել, որ Եվրամիությունը ի վիճակի չէ փոխարինել ռուսական գազի ծավալները:
« Ավելին, Թուրքիայի միջով այդ գազատարի կառուցման գաղափարը ցույց է տալիս, որ Եվրամիությունն անկախ իր կամքից ստիպված է օգտագործել հենց այդ գազատարը: Այլ բան է, թե ինչ պայմաններում դա կլինի: Արդյո՞ք դա կլինի վերադարձ դեպի Եվրոպայի համար գուցե ավելի ընդունելի, բայց Ռուսաստանի քաղաքական խնդիրների հետ կապված Հարավային Հոսք գազատարով, թե դա կլինի թուրքական ճանապարհով: Սրանք են երկու հիմնական հարցերը»,- նկատեց Սերգեյ Մինասյանը:
63 խորանարդ մետր հզորությամբ Հարավային Հոսքգազատարը, որը պետք է տեղակայվեր Սև ծովի հատակում ՝ ՌԴ-ից մինչև Բուլղարիա, մատակարարելու էր կապույտ վառելիքը Եվրոպական տարբեր երկրներին: ԵՄ-ն դեմ էր հանդես գալիս գազատարի կառուցմանը, քանի որ նույն ընկերության երրորդ էներգափաթեթի համաձայն արգելվում է համատեղել գազի արտադրությունն ու փոխադրումը: Բրյուսելի ոչ կառուցողական դիրքորոշման պատճառով Մոսկվան 2014թ.-ի դեկտեմբերին հայտարարել է Հարավային հոսքի ծրագրից հրաժարվելու մասին: Փոխարենը որոշվել է Թուրքիայում՝ Հունաստանի հետ սահմանում, կառուցել գազային հանգույց՝ հարավ-եվրոպացի սպառողների համար:
