Փետրվարի 18-ին արգործնախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանն ընդունեց ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարի՝ Եվրոպայի և Եվրասիայի հարցերով օգնական Վիկտորյա Նուլանդին։
Ողջունելով հյուրին՝ Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանը բարձր գնահատեց Հայաստանի և Միացյալ Նահանգների միջև հաստատված բարեկամական գործընկերությունը, որը տարիների ընթացքում ընդլայնվել և ընդգրկել է նորանոր ոլորտներ, և հույս հայտնեց, որ համատեղ ջանքերով երկկողմ համագործակցությունը առավել կամրապնդվի և կխորանա։
Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ընդունելության համար՝ Վիկտորյա Նուլանդը նշեց, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները մեծ կարևորություն է տալիս տարբեր բնագավառներում Հայաստանի հետ համագործակցության զարգացմանը և պատրաստ է հավելյալ ջանքեր գործադրել այդ ուղղությամբ։
Զրույցի ընթացքում քննարկվեցին երկկողմ հարաբերությունների ընդլայնման ուղղությամբ ձեռնարկվելիք համատեղ քայլերը:
Հանդիպման օրակարգում էին քաղաքական երկխոսությունը, միջազգային հարթակներում փոխգործակցությունը։
Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանն ու Վիկտորյա Նուլանդը գոհունակությամբ արձանագրեցին, որ ԱՄՆ և Հայաստանի միջև երկկողմ փոխգործակցությունը ընդգրկում է այնպիսի կարևոր ոլորտներ, ինչպիսիք են միջազգային և տարածաշրջանային անվտանգության խնդիրները, խաղաղապահ գործողությունները, զանգվածային ոչնչացման զենքի չտարածումը, ահաբեկչության դեմ պայքարը։ ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարի օգնականը երախտագիտություն հայտնեց խաղաղապահ գործողություններին Հայաստանի ակտիվ ներգրավվածության համար։
Վիկտորյա Նուլանդն ընդգծեց Հայաստանի դրական ձեռքբերումները ժողովրդավարության, քաղաքացիական հասարակության ամրապնդման, տնտեսական բարեփոխումների և մի շարք այլ բնագավառներում:
Անդրադարձ կատարվեց հայ-ամերիկյան տնտեսական փոխգործակցության զարգացման հեռանկարներին, համատեղ նախագծերի իրականացմանը, ներդրումների խրախուսմանը: Այս առումով կարևորվեցին երկու երկրների միջև իրավապայմանագրային դաշտի ընդլայնման ուղղությամբ իրականացվող աշխատանքները, մասնավորապես՝ Հայաստանի և Միացյալ Նահանգների միջև Առևտրի և ներդրումների շրջանակային համաձայնագրի մշակումը։
Նախարար Նալբանդյանն ընդգծեց, որ Հայաստանի անկախությունից ի վեր Միացյալ Նահանգները նշանակալի աջակցություն են ցուցաբերել Հայաստանի զարգացմանը և երկրում ընթացող բարեփոխումներին, և հավելեց, որ ժամանակի ընթացքում օգնության ծրագրերը վերածվել են համագործակցության և զարգացման նախագծերի։
Երկուստեք դրական գնահատվեց 2013թ. Հայաստանի արտգործնախարարի և ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղարի միջև մուտքի արտոնագրային ռեժիմի դյուրացման շուրջ ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածության՝ ս.թ. հունվարի 1-ից ուժի մեջ մտնելը։
Հանդիպմանը հանգամանալից մտքեր փոխանակվեցին միջազգային և տարածաշրջանային հրատապ խնդիրների՝ ուկրաինական ճգնաժամի, մերձավորարևելյան զարգացումների շուրջ։
Ղարաբաղյան հիմնախնդրի բանակցային գործընթացի քննարկման համատեքստում նախարար Նալբանդյանը և պետքարտուղարի օգնականը համակարծիք էին, որ պետք է հնարավոր բոլոր ջանքերը գործադրվեն՝ հիմնահարցի բացառապես խաղաղ կարգավորման համար՝ միջազգային իրավունքի՝ ուժի և ուժի սպառնալիքի չկիրառման, տարածքային ամբողջականության և ժողովուրդների ինքնորոշման սկզբունքների հիման վրա։ Այս առումով նախարար Նալբանդյանը կարևորեց որպես ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահ' Միացյալ Նահանգների ներդրումն ու դերակատարությունը։
Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանը խնդրեց իր ողջյուններն ու բարեմաղթանքները փոխանցել պետքարտուղար Ջոն Քերիին և վերահաստատեց Երևան այցելելու նրան ուղղված հրավերը։
