Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ ծայրագույն պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոսը փետրվարի 24-ին ընդունել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում Ամերիկայի Միացյալ Նահանգների նորանշանակ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Ռիչարդ Միլսին: Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին Մայր Աթոռի տեղ եկատվական համակարգից, Նորին Սրբությունն իր շնորհավորանքներն է փոխանցել ԱՄՆ դեսպանին և վստահություն հայտնել, որ Մայր Աթոռ Ս. Էջմիածնի և ԱՄՆ դեսպանատան միջև ձևավորված բարի հարաբերությունները և համագործակցությունը կշարունակվեն նաև նրա պաշտոնավարման ընթացքում:
Գոհունակությամբ անդրադառնալով հայ-ամերիկյան միջպետական կապերին' Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոսը, մասնավորապես, շնորհակալություն է հայտնել ԱՄՆ ժողովրդին և իշխանություններին հայ ժողովրդին ցուցաբերվող զորակցության համար: Նորին Սրբությունը նաև իր գնահատանքն է արտահայտել ղարաբաղյան հակամարտության խաղաղ կարգավորման նպատակով ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի շրջանակներում ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից գործադրվող ջանքերի կապակցությամբ:
Հայոց Հայրապետը մաղթել է, որ Տիրոջ օրհնությամբ նորանշանակ դեսպանի առաքելությունը նպաստի երկու ժողովուրդների բարեկամության ամրապնդմանը, ինչպես նաև տարբեր ոլորտներում երկու պետությունների միջև համագործակցության զարգացմանը:
ԱՄՆ դեսպանն իր հերթին ուրախություն է հայտնել հանդիպման առիթով, ապա ներկայացրել է հայ-ամերիկյան գործակցության արդյունքում իրականացվելիք ծրագրերի շրջանակը: Զրույցի ընթացքում Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսն ու ԱՄՆ դեսպանն անդրադարձել են նաև Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու կարևոր առաքելությանը հայ ժողովրդի կյանքում, Քույր եկեղեցիների հետ ունեցած ջերմ հարաբերություններին, ինչպես նաև հայրենիքի և եկեղեցու առջև ծառացած մի շարք մարտահրավերների:
Մասնավոր անդրադարձ է եղել եկեղեցու կողմից միջեկեղեցական փոխգործակցության արդյունքում աշխարհում հակամարտությունների խաղաղ կարգավորմանն ի նպաստ գործադրվող ջանքերին, ինչպես նաև խոսվել է տարածաշրջանում խաղաղության հաստատման ուղղությամբ կազմակերպվող հոգևոր առաջնորդների հանդիպումների մասին:
Նորին Սրբությունը տիար Ռիչարդ Միլսին տեղեկացրել է Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցին նվիրված միջոցառումների մասին' առանձնացնելով ապրիլի 23-ին Մայր Աթոռում տեղի ունենալիք Հայոց ցեղասպանության նահատակների սրբադասման արարողությունը:
