Экстремисты из группировки "Исламское государство" убили свыше 100 ассирийцев на северо-востоке Сирии.
Об этом в четверг сообщил командир Курдских сил самообороны (КСС) Ридур Халиль. По его словам, расправа была совершена над жителями в деревне Хормуз.
"Бандиты выместили на мирном населении злобу за поражения, которые они понесли в последние недели в регионе Эль-Джазира (историческое название провинции Эль-Хасика), - приводит слова курдского командира информагентство Firat. - Нанесена глубокая рана нам всем - курдам, арабам и ассирийцам".
Халиль отметил, что курдские бойцы и ассирийские ополченцы сумели отстоять в долине реки Хабур город Телль-Тамер (600 км от Дамаска). Поддержку с воздуха им оказала авиация многонациональных сил, атаковавшая позиции бандформирований.
"Отряды КСС и их союзники ведут сейчас бои с наемниками вокруг Телль-Хамиса, где расположен крупный плацдарм ИГ. Оттуда они совершают набеги на иракскую территорию вплоть до Мосула", - отметил курдский командир. Он выразил уверенность в том, что "этот район, как и вся провинция Эль-Хасика, будут очищены от бандитов, как это произошло в январе-феврале в Кобани".
По данным митрополита сиро-яковитской церкви Мар Эфрема Афанаила, в руках боевиков ИГ находится 298 заложников-христиан. "Нападение экстремистов привело к тому, что обезлюдело 38 деревень, где сожжено много домов, школы и церкви. Беженцы (5 тыс. человек) укрылись в городах Эль-Хасика, Камышлы и Дербасия", - сообщил архиерей. Он призвал международное сообщество способствовать скорейшему освобождению пленников, осудив те страны, которые "поддерживают террористов, занимающихся геноцидом".
