ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման և եվրոպական երկրների ղեկավարները տեսախորհրդաժողովի ընթացքում հավաստել են, որ պատրաստ են նոր պատժամիջոցներ սահմանել Ռուսաստանի նկատմամբ, եթե Մինսկի պայմանավորվածությունների խախտումներ արձանագրվեն, տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով Սպիտակ տանը:
Ավելի վաղ Գերմանիայի կառավարության մամուլի ծառայությունը նույնպես հայտարարել էր, որ Արևմուտքը պատրաստ է խստացնել Ռուսաստանի դեմ սահմանված պատժամիջոցներն Ուկրաինայում հակամարտության էսկալացիայի դեպքում:
«Նրանք հաստատեցին արագ և համաձայնեցված գործելու իրենց վճառականությունը, որպեսզի ստիպեն զգալիորեն ավելի մեծ գին վճարել, եթե տեղի ունենան Մինսկի համաձայնությունների լուրջ խախտումներ, կամ եթե Ռուսաստանի կողմից աջակցվող անջատողականները փորձեն նոր տարածք զավթել»,- ասված է Մեծ Բրիտանիայի վարչապետ Դևիդ Քեմերոնի, Ֆրանսիայի նախագահ Ֆրանսուա Օլանդի, Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելի, Իտալիայի վարչապետ Մատեո Ռենցիի և Եվրախորհրդի նախագահ Դոնալդ Տուսկի հետ Օբամայի խոսակցության արդյունքների վերաբերյալ Սպիտակ տան տարածած հաղորդագրության մեջ:
«Ղեկավարները Մինսկի համաձայնությունների հաջող և ամբողջական կատարման հույս են հայտնել և համաձայնել, որ ընթացիկ պատժամիջոցների մեղմացումը կապված կլինի այդ համաձայնությունների ամբողջական իրագործման հետ»,- հավելել են Սպիտակ տանը:
Ըստ ՌԻԱ Նովոստիի՝ նաև Օբաման և ԵՄ-ի երկրների ղեկավարները կոչ են արել բոլոր կողմերին՝ ձեռնպահ մնալ ռազմական գործողություններից, ԵԱՀԿ-ի հետ համագործակցել ծանր սպառազինությունների հետքաշման հարցում և ավարտել գերիների փոխանակումը: Օբաման և եվրոպական ղեկավարները պաշտպանել են այն բարեփոխումները, որոնք մտադիր է անցկացնել Ուկրաինայի կառավարությունը, և Ուկրաինային ֆինանսական օգնություն ցուցաբերելու պատրաստակամություն են հայտնել: Նաև քննարկվել է Լիբիայի իրադրությունը և «Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական խմբավորման դեմ պայքարը:
Ֆրանսիայի, ԱՄՆ-ի և ԳՖՀ-ի ղեկավարները՝ Ֆրանսուա Օլանդը, Բարաք Օբաման և Անգելա Մերկելը, հեռախոսային բանակցություններ են անցկացրել մարտի 3-ին: Դրանց մասնակցել են Մեծ Բրիտանիայի և Իտալիայի վարչապետները՝ Դևիդ Քեմերոնը և Մատեո Ռենցին, ինչպես նաև Եվրախորհրդի նախագահ Դոնալդ Տուսկը:
