Իրանի միջուկային զենքի ստեղծման շուրջ զարգացումները կանխելու հարցում ԱՄՆ-ի վարչակազմի և Իսրայելի կառավարության միջև կան էական տարաձայնություններ:
ԱՄՆ Սպիտակ տանը Reuters-ի (http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/03/02/us-usa-obama-idUSKBN0LY2GA20150302) հետ տեղի ունեցած հարցազրույցի ժամանակ նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման հայտարարել է, որ շրջադարձային ատոմային գործարք կնքելու համար Իրանը պետք է սառեցնի իր միջուկային ծրագրի ժամկետն առնվազն 10 տարով` ապահովելով դրա թափանցիկությունն ու վերահսկողությունը: Այնուամենայնիվ, նախագահի փոխանցմամբ, վերջնական համաձայնության հասնելու հավանականությունը դեռևս քիչ է:
«Եթե մենք ունենանք ստուգման համար անհրաժեշտ ժամանակը և հնարավորությունը, հարկ չի լինի այլ քայլեր ձեռնարկել համոզվելու համար, որ Իրանը միջուկային զենք չունի»,-հայտարարել է Օբաման: Օբամայի վստահեցմամբ` ԱՄՆ-ի նպատակը այս հարցում երաշխիքներ ունենալն է:
Հարցազրույցի ժամանակ Օբաման նաև ասել է, որ նույնիսկ Իսրայելի վարչապետ Բինյամին Նեթանյահուի հետ դիրքորոշումների տարաձայնության դեպքում, Ամերիկա-Իսրայել հարաբերությունները չեն պառակտվի:

Ելույթ ունենալով ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսի առջև, նա խստորեն դատապարտել է ձևավորվող համաձայնությունը` կոչ անելով Կոնգրեսին զերծ մնալ որևէ գործարք կնքելուց, ինչը հնարավորություն կտա Իրանին միջուկային զենք ստեղծել:
Չնայած դեմոկրատների մեկ քառորդի և ութ սենատորների բոյկոտին` Իսրայելի վարչապետի ելույթը բարձր ծափահարությունների է արժանացել, երբ նա կոչ է արել զերծ մնալ տնտեսական պատժամիջոցները չեղյալ հայտարարելուց:
Սպիտակ տան պնդմանը, որ վերջնական համաձայնությունը դեռևս հեռու է, Նեթանյահուն պատասխանել է, որ Բարաք Օբամայի կողմից շարադրված պայմանները, անխուսափելիորեն կհանգեցնեն Իրանի կոմից միջուկային զենքի ստեղծմանը, ինչն էլ, իր հերթին, ագրեսիվ Իրանին անխուսափելիորեն կհանգեցնի միջուկային պատերազմի: «Ահա թե ինչու է այս գործարքը այնքան վատը, որ չի արգելափակում Իրանի` միջուկային ռումբ ստեղծելու ճանապարհը, այլ ընդհակառակը` հարթեցնում է դրա ձեռքբերման ուղին»,- բացատրել է վարչապետը:
Մինչ ԱՄՆ-ն և Իրանը տարակարծիք են Իրանի միջուկային զենքի ստեղծման հարցի շուրջ, Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության ԱԳՆ ղեկավար Մոհամմադ Ջավադ Զարիֆը հայտարարել է, որ Իրանի համար անընդունելի է Բարաք Օբամայի` Իրանի միջուկային ծրագիրը առնվազն 10 տարով սառեցնելու վերաբերյալ առաջարկը:
