«Հայկական ժամանակ» թերթը գրում է. «Ողջ հաջորդ շաբաթվա ընթացքում Երեւանը հագեցած է լինելու եվրոպական միջոցառումներով: Երկուշաբթիից չորեքշաբթի Երեւանում տեղի է ունենալու ԵՄ Արեւելյան գործընկերության «Եվրանեսթ» խորհրդարանական վեհաժողովի չորրորդ լիագումար նիստը, իսկ հինգշաբթի-ուրբաթ Հայաստան-Եվրամիություն միջխորհրդարանական համագործակցության հանձնաժողովի նիստն է տեղի ունենալու:
Այս միջոցառումների ընթացքում, դրանց կուլիսներում Հայաստանի եւ Եվրամիության ներկայացուցիչները փորձելու են գտնել մի հարցի պատասխան. որքանո՞վ է հնարավոր Հայաստան-ԵՄ հարաբերությունների ռեստարտ իրականացնել, կամ ավելի ճիշտ՝ հաղթահարել այն ճգնաժամը, որ ծագեց 2013 թվականին Սերժ Սարգսյանի արած ոչ անհայտ հայտարարությունից հետո:
Երբ Ռուսաստանը Ուկրաինայից պոկեց Ղրիմը եւ սկսվեց Դոնբասի պատերազմը, Եվրոպայում սկսեցին հասկանալ, եթե Ռուսաստանը այսպես վարվեց հսկայական Ուկրաինայի հետ, Հայաստանի համար Ասոցացման համաձայնագրի ստորագրման հետեւանքները կարող էին շատ ավելի աղետալի լինել: Ուկրաինական ճգնաժամի շարունակական խորացումը Հայաստանի վիճակն ավելի ընկալելի դարձրեց ԵՄ-ի համար, եւ վերջին մեկ տարվա ընթացքում ԵՄ չինովնիկները սկսեցին Հայաստանի հետ նոր բանակցություններ ձեռնարկելու ուղիները մտմտալ:
Հայաստան-ԵՄ նոր փաստաթղթի ստորագրումը կախված է ոչ այնքան ԵՄ-ից կամ Հայաստանից, որքան Ռուսաստանից: Եթե Ռուսաստանն ասի ոչ, Սերժ Սարգսյանը երբեք չի ստորագրի նույնիսկ ամենաանմեղ փաստաթուղթը: Ու հիմա հայ եւ եվրոպացի դիվանագետների առաջ չափազանց նուրբ խնդիր է դրված, ստեղծել այնպիսի փաստաթուղթ, որին Ռուսաստանը չի ասի ոչ:
Ամբողջ խնդիրն այն է, սակայն, որ Հայաստանում քիչ չեն դիվանագետները, ովքեր կարծում են, որ Ռուսաստանը բոլոր դեպքերում է ասելու ոչ անկախ նրանից, թե ինչ գրված կլինի այդ փաստաթղթում: Այս դեպքում ի՞նչ իմաստ ունի բանակցել–բանակցելը եւ հերթական անգամ աշխարհի առաջ խայտառակ լինելը: Պրագմատիկներն ասում են, որ իմաստ ունի, այս ընթացքում Հայաստանը կհասցնի Եվրամիությունից մի 400 միլիոն եվրո օգնություն պոկել»:
