Военный альянс, предназначенный для защиты государств Запада,в лице США узурпировал право на определение курса современной европейской политики - борьбы с Россией, пишет Sputnik.
Саммит НАТО в Уэльсе был похож на праздник — альянс, постепенно превращавшийся в рудиментарный орган западной политики, вдруг заново обнаружил свое предназначение в виде конфронтации с Россией, крупнейший военный блок, оборонные расходы которого в 11 раз выше российских, обозначил Москву в качестве "первостепенной угрозы", пишет политический обозреватель Дмитрий Линник для Sputnik.
Система европейской безопасности после окончания холодный войны определяется дихотомией "конфликт — сотрудничество", полагает журналист. Еще задолго до того, как украинский политический кризис набрал внушительные обороты, американские неоконсерваторы и "проводники" их взглядов на европейской территории начали "захватывать" политическую повестку Запада в отношении России и пошли на конфронтацию.
"Что касается Украины, то Запад ограничился здесь стандартной аргументацией: государства, граничащие с Россией, должны сами определять, с кем им объединяться и в какие международные организации вступать, а у России, в свою очередь, нет права голоса в этих вопросах", — считает колумнист Sputnik.
Этот аргумент несостоятелен по своей сути — лишь кажущееся свободным решение о повороте Киева на Запад и уходе из российской орбиты было принято под громадным давлением Вашингтона и Брюсселя. Проводя такую политику у российских границ, Западу следовало бы критически оценить ситуацию: принять во внимание интересы Москвы или как минимум попытаться спрогнозировать ее реакцию. НАТО и Великобритании с Европой нужно было подумать, есть ли еще какие-либо варианты политики в отношении России, помимо столь рисковой конфронтации. К тому же ответ Москвы на грузинскую провокацию в Южной Осетии должен был заставить Запад задуматься.
"Способ мышления и политическая повестка атлантизма одержали свою главную победу — победу над разумом и здравым смыслом. <…> НАТО находится "на подъеме". Военный альянс, предназначенный для защиты государств западного сообщества, захватил лидерство в определении курса всей европейской политики — это то, что по определению недопустимо. При таких обстоятельствах альянс, похоже, становится для Европы хвостом, который виляет собакой", — считает журналист.
