Մարտի 11-12-ը Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցի կապակցությամբ Պադովայի համալսարանի կենտրոնական դահլիճում կայացել է «Հայոց ցեղասպանություն. 1915-2015. Մեծ եղեռնի 100-րդ տարելիցը» խորագրով միջազգային գիտաժողով:
Պադովայի համալսարանի հովանու ներքո կայացած գիտաժողովը կազմակերպել էին Շոայի և զանգվածային սպանությունների ուսումնասիրությունների խումբը և Պադովայի համալսարանի քաղաքական գիտությունների, իրավունքի և միջազգային ուսումնասիրությունների դեպարտամենտը՝ Փարիզի Շոայի հուշահամալիր-թանգարանի հետ համագործակցությամբ: Գիտաժողովի կազմակերպմանը մասնակցել էին բերել նաև Պադովայի քաղաքապետարանը, «Nairi Onlus» ասոցիացիան, «Glass House» մշակութային ասոցիացիան, Իտալիայի հայերի միությունը, Պադովայի հրեական համայնքը և «Աշխարհի առաքյալների այգի» կազմակերպությունը:
Գիտաժողովին ողջույնի խոսքով հանդես են եկել Պադովայի համալսարանի ռեկտոր Ջուզեպպե Զաքարիան, Իտալիայում ՀՀ դեսպան Սարգիս Ղազարյանը, համալսարանի քաղաքական գիտությունների, իրավունքի և միջազգային ուսումնասիրությունների դեպարտամենտի տնօրեն Անտոնիո Վարսորին, Պադովայի քաղաքապետարանի մշակույթի հարցերով պատասխանատու Ֆլավիո Ռոդեկիերոն:
Բանախոսների թվում էին Սորբոնի համալսարանի դասախոս Իվ Տերնոնը, Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանի դասախոս Վահրամ Տեր-Մաթևոսյանը, Ստամբուլի «Սաբանչի» համալսարանի դասախոս Հալիլ Բերկթայը, Պադովայի համալսարանի պրոֆեսոր Անտոնիա Արսլանը, Ցեղասպանագետների միջազգային ասոցիացիայի նախագահ Մարչելլո Ֆլորեսը և Միլանի, Նյու Յորքի, Պադովայի, Վենետիկի, Համբուրգի և այլ քաղաքների համալսարանների ու հետազոտական կենտրոնների շուրջ երկու տասնյակի հասնող դասախոսներ և փորձագետներ:
Դեսպան Ղազարյանն իր խոսքում նշել է, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցը Հայաստանի կողմից ոգեկոչվելու է չորս հիմնական ուղղություններով` հարգանքի տուրքի մատուցում Ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակին և զոհերի սրբադասման արարողություն Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու կողմից, հայ ժողովրդի երախտագիտութունը բոլոր նրանց, ովքեր Ցեղասպանության ծանր օրերին աջակցեցին հայերին, աջակցություն նոր ցեղասպանությունների կանխարգելմանն ուղղված միջազգային հանրության ջանքերին, ցեղասպանությունը վերապրած և անկախ պետականությունը վերականգնած հայ ժողովրդի վերածնունդ:
Դեսպանը նաև անդրադարձել է արևմտահայ մի շարք մտավորականների՝ Պադովայի համալսարանի շրջանավարտ լինելու փաստին՝ նկատելով, որ նրանց մի մասը զոհ գնաց Ցեղասպանությանը:
Գիտաժողովի ընթացքում բանախոսները խոսել են Հայոց ցեղասպանության սոցիալական, քաղաքական, իրավական և կրոնական ասպեկտների, թուրքական ազգայնականության և ժխտողականության, Ցեղասպանության կոնվենցիայի և թեմային առնչվող այլ հարցերի մասին:
