Այս օրերին տեղի է ունենում հայ-կանադական գործարար համաժողովը:
Այս այցելությունները և նմանատիպ գործարար համաժողովների կազմակերպումը ենթադրում է, որ կանադացիները ցանկանում են ուժեղացնել իրենց տնտեսական ներկայությունը, մասնավորապես կանադական որոշ արտահանվող ապրանքների համար նոր շուկաներ ձեռք բերել և կատարել ներդրումներ Հայաստանում:
Կանադան հումքային ուղղվածություն ունեցող, միաժամանակ բարձր տեխնոլոգիական երկիր է: Թեև արտահանում է ավտոմեքենաներ, սարքավորումներ, տեղեկատվական և հեռահաղորդակցման տեխնոլոգիաներ, սննդամթերք, քիմիական արտադրանք, դեղամիջոցներ, պարարտանյութեր և այլ արտադրանքներ, սակայն արտահանման զգալի մասը, մոտ 70-80%-ը կապված է բնական ռեսուրսների հետ՝ մետաղներ, բնական գազ, նավթ, ածուխ, ձկնամթերք, անտառանյութ և այլն:
Հումքային շուկաներում գների ներկա միտումների պատճառով Կանադայի տնտեսությունը վնասներ է կրում: Նման իրավիճակում տնտեսական գործընկերների հետ հարաբերությունների ընդլայնումը և զարգացումը օրակարգային է:
Հայ-կանադական արտաքին առևտրում մենք ունենք դրական հաշվեկշիռ: Նախորդ տարի այս երկիր արտահանել ենք 93 մլն. դոլլար մաքսային արժեքի ապրանք, և իսկ ներմուծումը կազմել է 23 մլն: Կանադայից հիմնականում ներմուծվել է մսամթերք, թուղթ, սնունդ, դեղորայք, հաստոցներ, և գործիքներ: Երկու երկրների միջև գործարար համագործակցությունը զարգանում է հիմնականում հանքարդյունաբերության, ինչպես նաև ոսկերչության, տեղեկատվական տեխնոլոգիաների, սննդի և թեթև արդյունաբերության ոլորտներում:
