Խոսքի ազատությունը Հայաստանում ընդունված է համարել մեր ժամանակի լավագույն ձեռքբերումներից մեկը: Սակայն նույնիսկ ամենալավ ձեռքբերումը կարող է վերածվել իսկական պատուհասի, եթե այն անցնում է թույլատրելիի սահմանը, ավելի շուտ, եթե այդ սահմանը հստակեցված չի էլ եղել:

Հայկական մի շարք լրատվամիջոցներում, ինչպես նաև սոցիալական ցանցի հարթակներում այդ սահմանների, հաճախ նաև՝ բարոյականության իսպառ բացակայությունը գնալով ավելի ակնհայտ է դառնում: Բավական է հիշատակել միայն վերջին օրերին տեղի ունեցած երևույթը, երբ մի շարք կեղծ օգտատերեր լուրեր էին տարածում այն մասին, իբրև թե մահացել են Շուշան Պետրոսյանը, Սոս Ջանիբեկյանը, Անդրեն, գործարար Սամվել Կարապետյանը... 

Այսպիսով` այսօր Հայաստանում ով ինչ լուր ուզում է, կարող է տարածել, ով ինչի մասին ուզում է, կարող է խոսել, բարձրաձայնել, մինչև անգամ հայհոյել, և այդ երևույթները ոչ մի կերպ չեն վերահսկվում, ոչ ոք ապահովագրված չէ իր մասին կեղծ ու ստահոդ, զրպարտիչ լուրերի տարածումից, հրապարակային վիրավորանքներ ստանալուց: Գուցեև կան ինչ-որ զսպող մեխանիզմներ, որոշ դեպքերում էլ կարելի է դիմել դատարան, բայց նույնիսկ այդ դեպքում, ես կասեի՝ արդյունավետությունը շատ թույլ է, չարամիտները, միևնույն է, կատարում են իրենց գործը, հաճախ հասնում նպատակին՝ ճանապարհին ոտնահարելով բարոյականության բոլոր սկզբունքները:

Սրանք անվերահսկելի խոսքի ազատության պտուղներն են, որոնք մենք արդեն սկսում ենք ճաշակել այսօր: Իզուր չեն ասում, որ ցանկացած երևույթ չափի մեջ է գեղեցիկ: Ինչ վերաբերում է խոսքի ազատությանը, ապա ես կարծում եմ՝ Հայաստանում այն վեր է ածվել ամենաթողության և ժամանակն է վերանայել այս հարցի շուրջ մոտեցումները և մտածել որոշակի սահմաններ դնելու, վերահսկելու, զսպող մեխանիզմներ կիրառելու մասին, մանավանդ որ ամենաթողությունն այն աստիճանի է հասել, որ Հայաստանում, օրինակ, լրատվական կայքը կամ ֆեյսբուքյան էջը, օգտատերերի խումբը առանց խոչընդոտի կարող է զբաղվել հակահայկական քարոզչությամբ, ընդհուպ մինչև՝ ադրբեջանական լոբբինգ։
