Центральной темой готовящегося форума Союза латиноамериканских наций (USAN - аналог ЕС в Латинской Америке) в Панаме будет вопрос о закрытие всех американских военных баз на континенте - сообщил генеральный секретарь организации колумбиец Эрнесто Сампер. Саммит в Панаме пройдет 10-11 апреля.

“Настал прекрасный момент для новой повестки в отношениях Латинской Америки и США. Больше не должно быть никаких военных баз США в Южной Америке. Это относится к эпохе холодной войны, - цитирует бывшего президента Колумбии LaRed21.

Сампер добавил также, что в современной политике никто не имеет права возносить себя выше другого и уж тем более накладывать какие-либо санкции. Так генсек USAN намекнул на решения, принятые администрацией Обамы в отношении президента Венесуэлы Николаса Мадуро, в рамках которых страна признана угрозой безопасности США.

Свое участие в саммите подтвердил 31 лидер, включая глав Венесуэлы, Кубы и Соединенных Штатов.
