Մանկական գրականությունը շատ պահանջված է գրախանութներում: Գրականագետ Արքմենիկ Նիկողոսյանը համոզված է՝ Հայաստանում մանկական գիրք հրատարակելը շատ շահութաբեր է հրատարակչությունների և գրախանութների համար, որովհետև ծնողները շահագրգռված են, որ իրենց երեխաները գիրք կարդան: Ապրիլի 2-ը մանկական գրքի միջազգային օրն է:

«Հայաստանում նույնպես նշում են մանկական գրքի միջազգային օրը: Մանկական գրքի հրատարակման իմաստով կարծես թե Հայաստանում խնդիր չունենք: Նախ՝ շահութաբեր ոլորտ է համարվում, որովհետև գրախանութներում ամենապահանջված գրքերն են: Մեծերը կարող են իրենց ինչ-որ բանից զրկել, բայց իրենց երեխաներին գրքերից չեն զրկում»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ նշեց  Արքմենիկ Նիկողոսյանը: 

«Պետպատվերի շրջանակում բազմաթիվ մանկական գրքեր են տպագրվում, ամեն տարի անցկացվում է նաև Մանկական գրքի շաբաթ, որի ընթացքում մանկագիրները մրցանակներ են ստանում: Այս ֆոնին, իհարկե, խնդիրներ կան: Մեր գրահրատակիչները դեռևս նմանակողի փուլում են: Իհարկե, մի կողմից լավ է: Նախկինում մեր արտադրանքն էապես զիջում էր, և, բնականաբար, երեխաներն ընտրում էին, օրինակ, ռուսերեն գիրքը: Աշխարհում մեծ պահանջարկ ունեցող խոսող, երգող և այլ էֆեկտներ պարունակող գրքերն արդեն կան հայերեն՝  էապես ավելի էժան»,-վկայում է Արքմենիկ Նիկողոսյանը:

Գրականագետը փաստում է՝ նոր մանկագիրներ ի հայտ բերելու, ձևավորելու ուղղությամբ աշխատանք տանելու խնդիր ունենք:  «Հրատարակիչների խնդիրը պետք է լինի նոր անուններ ներգրավել, թարգմանություններից ու նմանակումներից անցնել բուն հայկական բովանդակությամբ գրքերի: Մեր գրողներն իրենց հերթին պետք է թարմացնեն իրենց: Այսօր հեքիաթների հերոսները ոչ թե պետք է գնան անհնար բաներ հաղթահարելու, այլ դեպի այդտեղ տանող ճանապարհն ավելի գունեղ դարձնելու:

Ձևի և բովանդակության հետ կապված խնդիր ունենք: Կան վատ ձևավորած գրքեր, որոնք վատ բովանդակություն ուն են, և հակառակը»,-հավելեց նա: Հարցին, թե ինչքանով է գրականագետը «Արմենպրես» գործակալության  «Մանկական բեսթսելեր» նախագիծը համարում մանկական գրքի ընթերցանությունը խթանող միջոց, Արքմենիկ Նիկողոսյանը նշեց, որ ցանկացած նախաձեռնություն, որով գիրք է ներկայացվում և պարբերական բնույթ է կրում, այս իմաստով ունի իր դրական սդերակատարությունը:
