The only thing worse than a Donald Trump supporter is a Donald Trump supporter with an unhealthy obsession with video games and access to basic video editing software. This results in the above pro-Trump video that the frontrunner just retweeted. Produced by what one can only imagine is a group overly-caffeinated men who have played so much Call of Duty they've completely lost touch with reality, the video unconvincingly markets Trump as a video game protagonist (I think?).
The clip is entitled "Trump Effect." It's named after Mass Effect, the sci-fi role-playing series where you protect the galaxy from mechanical aliens. The video begins with a "T" in the style of the Entertainment Software Rating Board. Evidently, this advertisement is rated "T" for Trump, mild violence, sexual themes, and uber-patriotism. Using Martin Sheen's dialogue from the actualMass Effect game, the advertisement seems to assert that we're at war with people protesting Trump events. It then shows a collection of quotes—one from All Who Gaze Upon Him: "Donald Trump is simply awe-inspiring" and two from Trump himself: "I wrote The Art of the Deal" and "No more Oreos"—all of which are so absurd that it can only be a joke, right?
But the absolute best part (aside from the implication that Ben Carson is among the brightest and deadliest people in the galaxy) is the section that combines footage from The Apprentice intro with random stock images of bald eagles, fireworks, the Statue of Liberty, and American flags.
I literally can't stop watching this ad.
