Ruiz thinks that what makes photos special isn't the equipment, but the moment that is captured

Ruiz calls his photo series 'The Parallel world of puddles' to show the beauty in every day life

After experimenting with photography and angles, he said 'I had the curiosity to see what would happen if I put my camera close tot he puddle and capture it's hidden parallel world'

Ruiz said: 'It all started when I was standing on the street waiting to cross when I noticed a puddle right below me with the reflection of a cloud'. This image shows Rome's Colosseum

Ruiz created his instagram account three years ago when he decided to pack light during his travels, which meant leaving his DSLR camera behind and taking pictures only with his Google Nexus 5 smartphone

About his instagram, Ruiz said: 'The number of followers simply started to grow by itself'

He said: 'I started taking many pictures of my travels and people seemed to enjoy them, which was the motivation to always update my Instagram and have people enjoy my captures'

Ruiz, who encourages other amateur photographers to use the rain, said in the caption to this photo 'enjoy the rain, my friends'

Ruiz has hundreds of photos on his Instagram page, each which have thousands of likes and tens of comments

Speaking to MailOnline travel, he said: 'I had the curiosity to see what would happen if I put my camera close to the puddle and capture its hidden parallel world'

The 27-year-old encourages other photographers to use puddles and keep their lens clean
