«Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական խմբավորման գրոհայինները Իրաքի հյուսիսում հարձակվել են բազայի վրա, որտեղ տեղակայված են ամերիկացի ռազմական խորհրդատուները, հայտնում է «Ռեյթերը»՝ վկայակոչելով անվտանգության ուժերում աղբյուրներին:

Երկու մահապարտ ահաբեկիչ պայթուցիկ սարք են գործարկել Քիրքուք նահանգում K1 բազայի մուտքի մոտ: Հարձավողներից եւս երկուսին վնասազերծել են  փեշմերգայի քրդական ջոկատները, որոնք վերահսկում են հարակից տարածքները:

«Նրանք հագել էին փեշմերգայի քրդական ջոկատների համազգեստին նման հանդերձանք եւ սափրել մորուքները, որ մեզ նմանվեն»,- հայտարարել է զինվորականներից մեկը:

Հարձակման ժամանակ սպանվել է քուրդ 2 աշխարհազորային, եւս 6-ը վիրավորվել են:
