Ամանորի և Սուրբ Ծննդյան տոների առթիվ հայկական տոնական սեղանները սովորաբար ծածկվում էին ավանդական ուտեստներով, սակայն դա ժամանակին էր: Ներկայումս, այցելելով տարբեր բնակարաններ, կարող ենք զարհուրել հակաէսթետիկ ուտելիքների՝ բդերի, ոտքերի, ճանկերի տեսականուց:
Եթե մի քանի տարի առաջ հայկական իրականություն ներխուժեց կերած-խմած խոզի ազդը` նույն ինքը խոզի բուդը, ապա ներկայումս այն կամաց-կամաց զիջում է իր դիրքերը: Դեռ անցած տարի հայկական ճոխ սեղաններին խոճկորի, ձկների, հնդկահավերի կողքին հայտնվեց գիշատիչ կոկորդիլոսը:Նկատենք, որ այս անգամ, սակայն ժողովրդի բախտը չբերեց, քանի որ վաճառքի էր հանվել ոչ թե կոկորդիլոսի բուդը, այլ կենդանին՝ իր ողջ հմայքով: Արի ու տես, որ «ուժաս ֆիլմերի հերոսը» Հայաստանում առավել անպաշտպան գտնվեց եւ ունեցավ իր գնորդին. այդ «դելիկատեսի» վրա ողջ ազգի աչքն էր տնկված: Դե հասկանալի է, որ սոցիալական ծանր վիճակում գտնվող հասարակ մահկանացուն պարզապես ի վիճակի չէր գնելու «Կոկին» եւ նրա ընտանիքի անդամներին: Ապխտած կենդանիներին կարող էին համտեսել միայն էլիտար մասսայի ներկայացուցիչները, ովքեր սովոր են աչքի ընկնել օլիգարխիկ եւ չտես պահվածքով: Ի դեպ, չմոռանանք հիշեցնել, որ կոկորդիլոսների գնորդների ցուցակում շրջանառվում էին օրենսդիր մարմնի ներկայացուցիչներից մի քանիսի անունները:

Ինչ վերաբերում է ուտեստներին, նշեմ, որ կոկորդիլոս եւ այլ կարգի զզվելի կենդանիներ չենք դնում սեղանին, դրանք ինձ համար անընդունելի են եւ՛ կյանքում, եւ՛ սեղանին: Ես սիրում ու նախընտրում եմ տրադիցիոն հնդկահավը եւ խոզի բուդը, ինչ սիրում ենք, դա էլ դնում ենք սեղանին: Ես նպատակ չեմ դնում տոներին ինչ-որ մեկին զարմացնել: Պետք չէ մոռանալ, որ Նոր տարին նախեւառաջ տոն է քո ու քո ընտանիքի համար: Կարեւորը մթնոլորտն է: Ճիշտն ասած՝ դեռ չեմ որոշել, որտեղ եմ անցկացնելու Նոր տարիս, Հայաստանու՞մ, թե՞ երկրից դուրս: Սովորաբար Ամանորն անց եմ կացնում շատ ջերմ ու մտերմիկ միջավայրում՝ ընտանիքիս անդամների եւ հարազատներիս հետ»:
