Քաղաքագիտական վերլուծություններ կատարելու ամենաէֆեկտիվ տարբերակներից է անցյալի և ներկայի փաստերի համադրումը, որոնց մանրազնին ուսումնասիրության և համեմատության արդյունքում կարողանում ենք ստանալ կամայական երևույթների ներածին (Էնդոգեն) պատճառները:
Բացի այդ, մեթոդաբանական այս մոտեցումը հնարավորություն է տալիս կանխատեսել տարաբնույթ գործընթացների զարգացման հնարավոր վեկտորները և հեռանկարները: Օրինակ՝ նեղ մասնագիտական շրջանակների համար կանխատեսելի էր, որ իսլամիստ ծայրահեղականներն առաջին իսկ հնարավորության դեպքում պետք է սրի քաշեին արևապաշտ եզդիներին, քանի որ խալիֆայության պատմության ուսումնասիրությունները փաստում են, որ ի սկզբանե Իսլամի ամենաոխերիմ հակառակորդները եղել են հեթանոսները, մասնավորապես՝ արևապաշտները:
Նույն մեթոդաբանությամբ հնարավոր է դառնում գտնել նաև Հայաստանի ներկայիս ծանրագույն իրավիճակի պատճառները: Արիստոտելը հաճախ էր կրկնում, որ պատմության զարգացման ընթացքում մենք մշտապես հանդիպում ենք այս կամ այն երևույթների հակապատկերներին: Եվ այսպես, փորձենք Արիստոտելի պատմական հակապատկերների այդ մեթոդը կիրառել Կիլիկյան Հայաստանի և ներկայիս Հայաստանի Հանրապետության միջև զուգահեռներ անցկացնելու նպատակով:
Հեթում 1-ինը երկրի թագավորն էր, նրա եղբայրներից Բարսեղը՝ Սսի արքեպիսկոպոսն էր, Սմբատը՝ գունդստաբլը, մյուս եղբայր Օշինը՝ պայլը, թագավորահայր Կոստանդինը նույնպես մեծագույն ազդեցություն ուներ երկրում: Բայց այս ամենին զուգընթաց նրանք երբեք պետությունը չվերածեցին հայրական կալվածքի, այլ ընդհակառակը` այն դարձրեցին տարածաշրջանի հզորագույն պետություններից մեկը՝ զարկ տալով տնտեսության անկասելի զարգացմանը: Իսկ Սմբատ գունդստաբլը, ով, անկասկած, հայոց պատմության խոշորագույն անհատականություններից մեկն էր, ստեղծեց «Դատաստանագիրք»՝ պետության կառավարումը իրավական հիմքերի վրա դնելու նպատակով: Ի դեպ, այդ շրջանում արձանագրվեց հայ դիվանագիտական մտքի փայլուն նվաճումներից մեկը՝ հայ-մոնղոլական պայմանագիրը: Ընդհանրապես իրավացի է այն պնդումը, որ հայերը, որպես այդպիսին, հմուտ դիվանագետներ չեն եղել և պետության համար այնպիսի մի շահավետ պայմանագիր, ինչպիսին էր հայ-մոնղոլական պայմանագիրը, հազվադեպ երևույթ էր՝ չհաշված հայ-արաբական 652 թվականի պայմանագիրը։ Պետք է փաստել, որ նմանատիպ պայմանագիր կարող էին կնքել միայն հզորագույն պետական գործիչները:
Շատ չխորանալով պատմական հայտնի փաստերի մանրամասների մեջ՝ ինչպես նշեցինք, փորձենք դրանց հակապատկերները գտնել ներկայիս Հայաստանում:
Թերևս ոչ մեկի համար էլ գյուտ արած չենք լինի, որ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը վերածվել է իրար հետ ազգակից կամ իրար հետ խնամիական կապեր հաստատած մի քանի ընտանիքների կալվածքի: Պետական բարձրագույն ղեկավարությունը հանդես է գալիս սոսկ կալվածքատիրոջ շահերից՝ մի կողմ դնելով պետական շահը: Գրեթե բոլոր ռազմավարական ռեսուրսները ծառայեցվում են որևէ անհատի կամայական շահը բավարարելու նպատակով: Օրինակ` մի կողմ դնենք ռուսատյաց տրամադրությունները և փաստենք, որ Խորհրդային Հայաստանի տնտեսական հզորության խորհդանիշ համարվող Նաիրիտը կազմաքանդվեց՝ մի քանի հոգու շահը սպասարկելու նպատակով: Բոլորին է հայտնի, որ Հայաստանը Խորհրդային Միության գիտա-արդյունաբերական խոշորագույն կենտրոններից մեկն էր և Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը օրինաչափորեն կարող էր դառնալ դրա ուղղակի հետնորդը: Բայց, ինչպես տեսնում ենք, կալվածատիրական մոտեցումները գերակշռող դարձան, իսկ երկրի ամբողջ հարստությունը թալանվեց:
Թերևս անցյալի և ներկայի այս փաստերի համադրման արդյունքում կարողանում ենք ստանալ այն հարցի պատասխանը, թե ինչպես Հեթումյաններին հաջողվեց, պետության շահերից ելնելով, կնքել հայ-մոնղոլական պայմանագիրը, և ինչպես ներկայիս հայրենի համարվող իշխանությունները, պետության շահը ստորադասելով, կնքեցին ԵՏՄ անդամակցության պայմանագիրը:
Պատասխանը միանշանակ է. Հեթումյան եղբայրներն երկիրը չէին վերածել կալվածքի և հանդես չէին գալիս օլիգարխիկ դիրքերից:
