Հայ իրականության ամենաարատավոր երևույթներից է Հայկական ֆունդամենտալիզմի առկայությունը, որն իր մեջ պարուրում է այն մտայնությունը, թե ստեղծված հասարակական, քաղաքական և մշակույթային ծանր իրավիճակից հնարավոր կլինի դուրս գալ՝ միայն հայկական արմատներին վերադառնալու շնորհիվ կամ այլ խոսքով ասած` ճգնաժամից դուրս գալու համար 21-րդ դարում վերարտադրել հազարամյա քաղաքակրթության ամբողջ արժեհամակարգը:
Այդ տեսության գաղափարախոսները ոչ մի կերպ հաշվի չեն առնում այն բացահայտ ճշմարտությունը, որ այդ արժեհամակարգի ատրիբուտների մեծագույն մասն օրինաչափորեն կորցրել է իր կենսունակությունը և անվերադարձ ամփոփվել հեռավոր անցյալում: Այսինքն՝ ներկայիս մարդու և անցյալի միջև քաղաքակրթական և օրգանական առնչությունը որպես այդպիսին խզված է: Իսկ որպես կապող օղակ կարող է հանդիսանալ միայն հիշողությունը և ոչ ավելին:
Խոսքը չի գնում մնայուն ազգային արժեքների մասին, դրանք անկախ ժամանակից և տարածությունից անփոխարինելի են և բնորոշ են միայն հայերին:
Առավել ռացիոնալ տարբերակ թերևս կարող է լինել, որ մնայուն հայկական արժեքները սինթեզվեն համամարդկային լուսավորական արժեքների հետ և ադապտացվեն ժամանակաշրջանի առանձնահատկությունների հետ:
Փաստենք, որ Հովհաննես Թումանյանն իր ստեղծագործությունների ծանրակշիռ հատվածը նվիրել է հենց չորացած ազգային արժեքների վերհանմանը և քննադատությանը: Իմ խորին համոզմամբ նա փորձ է կատարել ապահովել հայ ժողովրդի գաղափարական անցումը` միջնադարից դեպի նոր ժամանակներ: Բնականաբար, Թումանյանը, որը ծանոթ էր նոր ժամանակների լուսավորական գաղափարներին, «Անուշ», «Մարո», «Լոռեցի Սաքո» և մյուս կոթողային նշանակություն ունեցող ստեղծագործությունները, չի գրել ժողովրդական լայն զանգվածներին հուզելու կամ էլ զվարճացնելու նպատակով: Դրանք ունեցել են լրջագույն քաղաքակրթական թիրախներ՝ ծաղրել և արմատախիլ անել միջնադարյան արատավոր ավանդույթները, որոնք դեռևս լայնորեն տարածված էին խուլ հայկական գյուղերում (մանկահասակ երեխաների ամուսնություն, սովորութային արգելքներ, չհիմնավորված սպանություններ և այլն):
Նմանատիպ խնդիրների կարող ենք հանդիպել նաև մեր օրերում: Եվ կարելի է փաստել, որ ներկայումս գաղափարական տեսանկյունից դրված է հայ հասարակության նոր ժամանակներից, ինչու չէ նաև միջնադարից դեպի 21-րդ դար անցում կատարելու խնդիրը:
Օրինակի համար կարող ենք առանձնացնել հասարակության անհիմն միջամտությունները որևէ անհատի անձնական կամ սեռական կյանքին: Այսինքն՝ կարելի է փաստել, որ սեռական կյանքի և բարոյականություն եզրույթները սերտաճել են, և երկրորդը չափվում է առաջինի բացակայության կամ ավանդական կիրառման արդյունքում: Եվ նմանատիպ արատավոր օրինակները բազմաթիվ են և տարատեսակ:
Պահպանողական շրջանակներն առաջնորդվում են հետևյալ զավեշտական սկզբունքով`«Այն ամենը ինչ որ հարյուրամյակների պատմություն ունի և որոշակի մշակութային արժեք է իրենից ներկայացնում, ապա առավել արժեքավոր է, քան կամայական նորը»: Այդ ամենն իրոք միայն մշակութային տեսանկյունից է արժեքավոր, բայց ոչ մի կերպ չի կարող տեղ ունենալ 21-րդ դարի մարդու կյանքում՝ անգամ վերապրուկի տեսքով:
Վերջաբանի փոխարեն փաստենք, որ բավականին ազդեցիկ ինստիտուտների իրականացրած սոցիոլոգիական հարցումների հիման վրա Հայաստանն ընդգրկվել է աշխարհի ամենադժբախտ հասարակություն ունեցող պետությունների տասնյակում: Որպես հիմնավորում բերվում է ծանր սոցիալ-տնտեսական իրադրությունը, անարդարությունը և այլն, բայց ոչ ոք չգիտես ինչու չի խոսում դժբախտ լինելուն ոչ պակաս նպաստող խնդիրների մասին, այն է՝ սեքսի բացակայություն, անհաջող ամուսնություններ և այլն: Իսկ սրանք ոչ այլ ինչ են, քան քարացած ազգային վերապրուկների ազդեցության արդյունք:
