Մեզնից յուրաքանչյուրը իր հոգում ունի արվեստի մի պատառ, որով էլ ապրեցնում է իրեն ու շրջապատող աշխարհը: Մշակույթն ու արվեստը ապահովում են հոգու ու բնության ներդաշնակությունը, ինչն էլ իր հերթին թելադրում է սեփական առանձնահատկությունները:

Արմեն (Լոռենց) Հարությունյանն իր ավանդն ունի ոչ միայն արվեստում, այլև կրթության ոլորտում:

Տասնյակ տարիներ լինելով մանկավարժության ոլորտում՝Արմեն Լոռենցը ուսումնասիրել է կրթությունն ու արվեստը միաժամանակ: Հեղինակ է չորս տասնյակից ավելի գիտամանկավարժական հոդվածների և ուսումնամեթոդական ձեռնարկների.
-Մանկավարժությունը գիտություն է և արվեստ։ Ինձ շատ հոգեհարազատ է ստեղծագործ աշխատանքը։ Շատ հաճախ հաջողված դասից հետո նույն էսթետիկական հաճույքն ու բերկրանքն եմ ապրում, ինչ պլեներում ստեղծված կտավից։ Արվեստն ու գիտությունը փոխկապված են։ Ես փորձում եմ գիտության մեջ արվեստ տեսնել, իսկ արվեստի մեջ՝ գիտություն,- ասում է Լոռենցը:

Երկար տարիներ դասավանդելով մանկավարժության տեսություն ՝ իր հետազոտությունների և ուսումնասիրությունների նպատակն է համարել արվեստի վերհանումը՝ որպես հզոր զենք, դաստիարակի համար: Այդ պատճառով էլ Լոռենցը նշում է, որ չպետք է հասարակությունը արվեստը վերագրի որպես ավելորդ ճոխության և պերճանքի առարկա.
-Ցավոք սրտի, այսօր լայն հասարակության շրջանում արվեստն ու մշակույթը կորցրել են երբեմնի պահանջվածությունը։ Տիրապետող են դարձել ցածրարվեստ ու անբովանդակ գործերը։ Միտում է նկատվում նաև արվեստի ու մշակույթի գլոբալիզացման, որը, ինչ խոսք, մեծ վտանգ է ազգային ինքնության պահպանման համար, - նշում է վարպետը:
Ինչպես գիտենք, գեղագիտական դաստիարակությունը մարդու բարոյական ներաշխարհում ևս կարևոր դեր ունի, որը պիտի զարգանա անհատի մոտ դպրոցական տարիներից: Սակայն մեր օրերում դպրոցում սա ունի թերի մոտեցում. 

-Մեր դպրոցներում գեղագիտական դաստիարակությունը վթարված վիճակում է։ Կերպարվեստ ու երաժշտություն դպրոցներում դասավանդում են հիմնականում դասվարները, որոնց մեծ մասը շատ հեռու է առարկային տիրապետելու ձիրքից։ Մասնագետները ցածր աշխատավարձի պատճառով խուսափում եմ դպրոցից ։ Գեղագիտական հոսքի առարկաները համարվում են երկրորդական առարկաներ։ Սա է մեր դառը իրականությունը…

Լոռենցը հանրությանը հայտնի է նաև որպես նկարիչ. վերջերս ակտիվ գործունեությամբ զբաղվում է գեղանկարչության ոլորտում: Սիրով է նշում, որ ոգեշնչվում է բնությունից ու արևից, քանի որ «Մեր արևը ոչ մի երկրում չկա, բնությունը հզոր ուժ է ու մեծ ուսուցիչ»:

Երբ խոսվեց նաև արվեստի գույների մասին, Արմեն Հարությունյանը նշեց, որ մեր իրականությունում կավելացներ սիրո և հանդուրժողականության գույնը, իսկ մեր հայրենիքը կբնութագրեր մեր եռագույնի գույներով: Արմեն Լոռենցը, լինելով Մանկավարժական գիտությունների թեկնածու, դոցենտ,  ՀՀ նկարիչների միության անդամ, պատիվ է ունեցել հանրությանը ներկայացնելու իր աշխատանքները` տարբեր խորագրերով ցուցահանդեսների ժամանակ:
