ԱՄՆ-ը Հյուսիսային Ամերիկայի և Արևմտյան Եվրոպայի երկրների թվում առաջին տեղն է զբաղեցնում երեխաների սպանությունների թվաքանակով: Ինչպես հաղորդվում է ՄԱԿ-ի Մանկական հիմնադրամի (ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ)' ՄԱԿ-ում ներկայացված զեկույցում, միայն 2012 թվականին ԱՄՆ-ում զոհվել են ավելի քան 3 հազար երեխա կամ մինչև 20 տարեկան պատանիներ: Այլ խոսքով՝ երկրում յուրաքանչյուր հարյուր հազար սպանվածներին բաժին է ընկնում չորս երեխա կամ երիտասարդ: Համեմատության համար՝ Ռ ուսաստանում այդ ցուցանիշը կրկնակի պակաս է, իսկ Սալվադորում՝ գրեթե յոթ անգամ բարձր (27 երեխա):
ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ի զեկույցում հանգամանալի տեղեկատվություն է ներկայացված 190 երկրներում երեխաների նկատմամբ բռնությունների զանազան դեպքերի վերաբերյալ: Հետազոտողների տվյալներով՝ 2012 թվականին աշխարհում սպանվել է առնվազն 95 հազար երեխա ու դեռահաս: Ընդսմին ԱՄՆ-ը տեղ է գտել այն երկրների տասնյակում, որոնց բաժին է ընկնում այդ դեպքերի կեսը: «Երեխաների և մինչև 19 տարեկան պատանիների սպանությունների բոլոր դեպքերի կեսից ավելին տեղի է ունեցել տասը երկրում: Դրանց թվում են՝ Նիգերիան, որտեղ այդ ցուցանիշը մոտենում է 13 հազարի, ինչպես նաև Բրազիլիան, Հնդկաստանը, Կոնգոյի Դեմոկրատական Հանրապետությունը, Մեքսիկան, Եթովպիան, ԱՄՆ-ը, Պակիստանը, Կոլումբիան և Վենեսուելան»,- նշվում է զեկույցում:
Փաստաթղթում ընդգծվում է, որ գլոբալ մասշտաբով երեխաների առավել մեծ թվով սպանություններ են կատարվում Լատինական Ամերիկայի և Կարիբյան ծովի երկրներում՝ 25 հազար 400: Այդ ցուցանիշով (23 հազար 400) երկրորդ տեղն զբաղեցնում է Կենտրոնական Աֆրիկան, որին հաջորդում են Արևելյան և Հարավային Աֆրիկան (15 հազար): «Այդ տարիքային խմբում սպանությունների ամենափոքր թիվը դիտվում է Կենտրոնական և Արևելյան Եվրոպայում, ինչպես նաև ԱՊՀ-ում (1500)»,-տեղեկացնում է ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ը:
Սպանություններից բացի, հետազոտողները նաև մեծ ուշադրություն են նվիրում սեռական բնույթի բռնություններին: Դրանց ենթարկվել են շուրջ 120 մլն աղջնակներ և մինչև 20 տարեկան աղջիկներ, այսինքն՝ մոտավորապես յուրաքանչյուր տասներորդը:
Ամենավատթար իրադրությունը Աֆրիկայում է. տարածաշրջանի 18 երկրներից 13-ում բռնաբարությունների է ենթարկվել աղջիկների ու դեռահասների 10 տոկոսը: «Համեմատության համար՝ Կենտրոնական ու Արևելյան Եվրոպայի, ինչպես նաև ԱՊՀ-ի բոլոր երկրներում աղջիկների 1 տոկոսից պակաս մասն է հայտարարել սեռական բռնության դեպքերի մասին»,- ասված է զեկույցում, հաղորդել է ԻՏԱՌ-ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
