Ադրբեջանի մասին արտասահմանյան մամուլի հրապարակումներից պարզ է դառնում, որ միջազգային հանրությունն անհանգստությամբ է հետեւում այդ երկրում հասարակական ակտիվիստների եւ իրապաշտպանների նկատմամբ գործադրվող բռնաճնշումներին: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, մասնավորապես ավստրիական «Die Presse» թերթը Ադրբեջանում քաղաքացիական հասարակության դեմ համընդհանուր հարձակումների, իշ խանության' հեղափոխության վախի մասին պատմող ընդարձակ հոդված է հրապարակել:
«Ադրբեջանում նոր Մայդանի վախ կա» վերտառությամբ հոդվածում թերթը դատապարտել է Եվրոպային ավտորիտար Ադրբեջանի իշխանության կողմից իրագործված բռնաճնշումների դեմ անտարբերություն ցուցաբերելու եւ արժանի պատասխան չտալու համար:
«11 տարի է' Ադրբեջանը գտնվում է Իլհամ Ալիեւի ավտորիտար կառավարման տակ: Կողքից այնպես է երեւում է, թե այդ երկիրը դինամիկ զարգացող եւ տոլերանտ է: Սակայն, այդ երկրում հասարակության նկատմամբ կոշտ կառավարում է իրագործվում: Երիտասարդ իրավապաշտպան Ռասուլ Ջաֆարովը, ով «Մարդու իրավունքների ակումբ» ոչ կառավարական կազմակերպության ղեկավարն է, Ադրբեջանում քննադատող ձայների խեղդվելու մասին մայիսին Եվրոպայի Խորհրդի գլխավոր քարտուղար Թյորբյորն Յագլանդին ուղղված նամակը ստորագրած ակտիվիստներից է: Նա ձերբակալվեց օգոստոսի 30-ին: Ադրբեջանի կառավարությունը նրան մեղադրում է հարկերից խուսափելու, պաշտոնական լիազորությունները չարաշահելու մեջ: Ադրբեջանի կառավարությունը բազմիցս մերժել է գրանցել նրա կազմակերպությունը: Բանտից արած հայտարարության մեջ Ջաֆարովը նշել է, որ իրեն կեղծ մեղադրանքներով ձերբակալել են որպես իրվապաշտպան իր գործունեության համար:
Ջաֆարովի ակումբը հայտնի իրավապաշտպան Լեյլա Յունուսի հետ պատրաստել է Ադրբեջանում առկա քաղբանտարկյալների ցուցակը, որը ներկայացվել էր ԵԽԽՎ հունիսյան նստաշրջանին: Ցուցակում նշված են ԵԽ բնորոշումների հիման վրա քաղբանտարկյալ ճանաչված 90-ից ավելի մարդկանց անուններ: Նրա այդ քայլը զայրացրեց մայիսի կեսերին ԵԽ նախարարների խորհրդի նախագահությունը ստանձնած Ադրբեջանի ղեկավարությանը, որը չի կատարել ԵԽ անդամակցության ժամանակ ստանձնած պարտավորությունների մեծ մասը: Այժմ Ջաֆարովն' ինքը եւս հայտնվել է քաղբանտարկյալների 98-հոգիանոց ցուցակում: Ցուց ակի հրապարակումը վերացրել է եվրոպական արժեքներին չհամապատասխանող նախկին խորհրդային երկրի' աշխարհում իրեն որպես առաջադեմ ցուցադրելու հնարավորությունը:
Ադրբեջանի իշխանությունը 2013 թվականի հոկտեմբերից համընդհանուր հարձակման է անցել քաղաքացիական հասարակության անդամների դեմ: Միջազգային փորձագետների կարծիքով' Ադրբեջանի իշխանության նման կոշտ պահվածքը Բաքվում արաբական եւ ուկրաինական հեղափոխությունների կրկնությունից վախենալու արդյունքն է», -գրում է թերթը:
Թերթը հավելում է, թե փորձագետները գտնում են, որ Ադրբեջանում իշխող ռեժիմը խիստ վախենում է «արաբական գարնան» իրադարձությունների եւ Ուկրաինայում ցնցումների կրկնությունից Ադրբեջանում, քանի որ Ադրբեջանում քաղաքացիական հասարակության ցանկացած ձեւ դիտվում է որպես սպառնալիք:
