Վերջին յոթ տարում առկա է օզոնային շերտի կայուն վերականգնման գործընթաց: Դա վկայում է այն մասին, որ Մոնրեալի արձանագրությունը, որից սկսվեցին օզոնային շերտի պահպանությանը նվիրված համաշխարհային գործողությունները, սկսեց տալ իր առաջին արդյունքները: Այս մասին սեպտեմբերի 16-ին լրագրողներին հայտնեց «Հայպետհիդրոմետ» ծառայության գլխավոր գոեֆիզիկոս Դավիթ Մելքոնյանը:
«Օզոնային շերտի պահպանության մի մասը հանդիսանում է վերահսկումը, և այդ նպատակով աշխարհում գործում է օզոնային շերտը հետազոտող 500 կայաններից կազմված ցանց, որոնցից մեկը աշխատում է Հայաստանում: Կատարած չափումների համաձայն, ակնառու է 2000 թ. օզոնային շերտի քայքայման գործընթացի դադարումը և առ այսօր ընթանում է հաստության համընթաց ավելացում», - ասաց Դավիթ Մելքոնյանը:
Հայաստանը Օզոնային շերտի պահպանման կոնվենցիային և Մոնրեալի արձանագրությանը միացել է դեևս 1999 թ.: 2005 թ. Բնապահպանության նախարարության կազմում ստեղծվել է Օզոնի պահպանության ազգային կենտրոնը, որը օզոնային շերտի պահպանության գործառույթներ ունի:
«Բնապահպանության նախարարության կողմից օզոնի պահպանության ոլորտում իրականացվում են երկու ծրագրեր: Ինստիտուցիոնալ, որոնք իրականացվում են ՄԱԿ-ի արդյունաբերական զարգացման կազմակերպության հետ համատեղ' կատարելով հանրային իրազեկում, օրենսդրության լրամշակում, և ուսուցողական գործունեություն սառնարաններ վերանորոգողների և մաքսային աշխատակիցների հետ:
Նաև իրականացնում են օզոնաքայքայիչ հիդրոքլորֆտորածխախծնային նյութերի փուլային փոխարինման ծրագիր», - ասաց Օզոնի ազգային կենտրոնի «Ինստիտուցիոնալ հզորացում» ծրագրի համակարգող Լիաննա Ղահրամանյանը:
Նա նաև հավելեց, որ Հայաստանը երբեք չի հանդիսացել օզոնային շերտը քայքայող նյութերի արտադրող, իսկ 2013 թ. օրենսդրորեն արգելվել է օզոնը քայքայիչ ֆրեոններով աշխատող սառնարանների ներմուծումը Հայաստան:
1987 թվականին ստորագրած Մոնրեալի արձանագրությամբ կարգավորվում է շուրջ հարյուր տեսակի քիմիական նյութերի գործածությունը: Այդ նյութերից օզոնային շերտի համար ամենավտանգավորներից են քլոր-ֆտոր-ածխածինները, որոնց կիրառումն ու արտադրությունը զարգացող երկրներում դադարեցվել է 2010 թ.:
