ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահների միջնորդությամբ հայ-ադրբեջանական տարբեր մակարդակի հանդիպումները պարզապես բանակցային գործընթացը պահպանելու փորձեր են, որպեսզի պահպանվի նաև ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի ձևաչափն ու գործունեությունը: Հենց այսպես է բնութագրում Նյու Յորքում ՀՀ ԱԳՆ Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանի և Ադրբեջանի ԱԳ նախարար Էլմար Մամեդյարով հանդիպումը «Կովկաս» ինստիտուտի տնօրեն, քաղաքագետ Ալեքսանդր Իսկանդարյանը: «Նման հանդիպումներով ոչ մի լուրջ արդյունքի էլ հասնել հնարավոր չէ: Դրանք արվում են գործընթացի պահպանման համար: Նախ ռուսական կողմի նախաձեռնությամբ, հիմա ամերիկյան կողմի միջնորդությամբ հանդիպումներ են նշանակվում»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ' ասաց Իսկանդարյանը' չբացառելով, որ պաշտոնական Փարիզի առաջարկությունն էլ կընդունվի, և Հայաստանի ու Ադրբեջանի նախագահները կհանդիպեն:

«Սակայն սպասել լուրջ փոփոխությունների, մեղմ ասած, անլուրջ է»,- ասաց Իսկանդարյան' հավելելով, որ կողմերը հակադիր տեսակետեր ունեն ԼՂ հակամարտության կարգավորման առնչությամբ և նման հանդիպումների նպատակը բանակցություններ շարունակելով փխրուն խաղաղության պահպանումն է:

Նյու Յորքում սեպտեմբերի 23-ին ՀՀ նախագահի գլխավորած պատվիրակության կազմում ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր Ասամբլեայի 69-րդ նստաշրջանի աշխատանքներին մասնակցող Հայաստանի արտգործնախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանը հանդիպել է ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահներ Իգոր Պոպովի, Պիեր Անդրիոյի, Ջեյմս Ուորլիքի, ինչպես նաև ԵԱՀԿ գործող նախագահի անձնական ներկայացուցիչ Անջեյ Կասպրչիկի հետ: Այնուհետև հանդիպումը շարունակվել է Ադրբեջանի արտգործնախարար Էլմար Մամեդյարովի մասնակցությամբ։

Նախարարները և համանախագահները քննակել են ղարաբաղյան հիմնախնդրի խաղաղ հանգուցալուծման գործընթացին առնչվող հարցերը։

ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահները վերահաստատել են Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հիմնախնդրի բացառապես խաղաղ կարգավորմանն ուղղված միացյալ ջանքերի գործադրման վճռականությունը։ Քննարկվել են Ֆրանսիայի Նախագահի նախաձեռնությամբ Փարիզում կայանալիք Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի ղեկավարների հանդիպման նախապատրաստական աշխատանքները։ Եռանախագահները ցանկություն են հայտնել հոկտեմբերին այցելել տարածաշրջան։
