Լիբանանում հայկական խաղաղապահ ստորաբաժանումը կտեղակայվի այդ երկրի արևմտյան հատվածում և կիրականացնի պաշտպանական գործառույթ: Այս մասին Ազգային ժողովում ՀՀ և Իտալիայի պաշտպանության նախարարությունների միջև կնքված՝ իտալական ստորաբաժանումների կազմում հայկական խաղաղապահ առաքելություն Լիբանան ուղարկելու վերաբերյալ տեխնիկական համաձայնագրի քննարկման ժամանակ հայտարարեց ՀՀ պաշտպանության փոխնախարար Արա Նազարյանը՝ պատասխանելով ՀՀԿ խմբակցության պատգամավոր Կորյուն Նահապետյանի հարցին:

«Հայկական խաղաղապահ ստորաբաժանումները Աֆղանստանում և Կոսովոյում ևս իրականացնում են որոշակի օբյեկտների պաշտպանության գործառույթ: Այս դեպքում էլ նրանք այդ գործառույթն են կատարելու»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ նշեց Նազարյանը:

Նա նաև վստահեցրեց, որ հայ խաղապահները Լիբանանում վտանգավոր գոտիներում չեն գտնվելու, այլ մի քանի զորամասերում իրականացնելու են իրենց պարտականությունները' պաշտպանական գործողություններ:

Հայաստանի և Իտալիայի պաշտպանության նախարարությունները տեխնիկական համաձայնագիր են կնքել, որի համաձայն' Հայաստանը իտալական ստորաբաժանումների կազմում խաղաղապահ առաքելություն կուղարկի Լիբանան: Լիբանանում հայկական խաղաղապահ ստորաբաժանումը բաղկացած կլինի 30 զինծառայողներից և երկու սպաներից:

Ֆինանսական հարցերը հոգալու է ՄԱԿ-ը: Հայ զինծառայողների բուժման ծախսերը հոգալու է իտալական կողմը' տեղի իտալական բուժսպասարկման կետերում, իսկ եթե տեղում հնարավոր չէ կազմակերպել բուժումը, ապա այդ դեպքում ծախսերը հոգում է հայկական կողմը: Իտալական կո ղմը նաև անվճար հոգալու է հայ զինծառայողների որևէ վայր տեղափոխելու և հետդարձի ծախսերը:
