Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի ու Հայաստանի Հանրապետության միջև մաքսակետ հնարավոր է միայն այն դեպքում, երբ ԼՂՀ-ն, որպես ազատ և ինքնիշխան պետություն, որոշում կայացնի միանալ Եվրոպական միությանը: «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ' այս մասին հոկտեմբերի 14-ի մամուլի ասուլիսի ժամանակ, լրագրողների բարձրացրած հարցին ի պատասխան, ասաց ԱԺ ՀՀԿ խմբակցության քարտուղար Գագիկ Մելիքյանը:

Նրա խոսքով' Ղազախստանի նախագահ Նուրսուլթան Նազարբաևի այն հայտարարությունը, թե որոշակի փոխզիջումներ են եղել պայմանագրի ստորագրման ժամանակ, պարզապես նրա' նախկինում արտահայտած մտքի շարունակությունն է, որը, սակայն, որևէ փաստաթղթում չի արձանագրվել: «Դեռևս բանակցությունների ընթացքում, երբ Աստանայում Նազարբաևը հարց բարձրացրեց, թե Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունն ինչ սահմաններով է անդամակցելու ԵՏՄ-ին, և արդյոք Ղարաբաղը ՀՀ-ի մաս է, թե ոչ, այդ բանավոր խոսքերը բանակցությունների ընթացքում վերջնական փաստաթղթում չեն արձանագրվել: Նազարբաևի բանավոր հայտարարությունները բանավոր ի գիտություն են ընդունվել»,- ասաց Գագիկ Մելիքյանը' հավելելով, որ Նազարբաևը, իր նախկին հայտարարությունը հիմք ընդունելով, չէր կարող նման հայտարարություն չանել:

Պատգամավորի հավաստմամբ' ԼՂՀ-ն և ՀՀ-ն մեկ տնտեսական միավոր են, և չեն կարող առանձին լինել իրարից' չնայած, որ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հանրապետությունն ազատ, ինքնիշխան պետություն է' իր սահմաններով, սահմանադրությամբ, խորհրդանիշներով:
