«Ժողովուրդ»-ը նախորդ համարում արդեն ներկայացրել էր, թե ինչպես իր տանը հյուրընկալած եւ Կարեն Գենաշվիլու Օհանյանի հիվանդ երեխային կերակրած Աշոտ Մանուկյանը հայտնվեց ոստիկանությունում եւ հանուն փոքրիկ երեխայի փրկության' ստորագրեց սեփական մեղայականի տակ' խոստովանելով, որ ինքն է Կարենին թմրանյութ տվել:

Նա դատապարտված է 4 տարի 6 ամիս ազատազրկման, իսկ, ահա, Կարենն ազատության մեջ է: Մինչդեռ Աշոտ Մանուկյանի մասին հարեւանների բնութագիրը լրիվ այլ բան է փաստում. հարգալից, համեստ, աշխատասեր եւ հավասարակշռված անձնավորություն:
Ուշագրավն այն է, որ խուզարկությունն անցկացվել է տաքսու վարորդի ներկայությամբ, ով ինքն էլ փաստում է, որ Աշոտի մոտից թմրանյութ չի հայտնաբերվել: Իսկ Կարենի մոտի «թմրանյութ» կոչվածը ձեռք է բերվել հենց ճանապարհին, երբ Կարեն Օհանյանը վարորդին խնդրել է մեքենան կանգառել' բնական կարիքները հոգալու, եւ հենց այդտեղ էլ նկատել է կանեփի թուփը: Կարելի է մտարծել, որ այդտեղ քիչ դեր չեն խաղացել նաեւ Ինդիրա եւ Անահիտ ընկերուհիները, ովքեր քաջատեղյակ էին, որ Կարենն օգտագործում է թմրանյութ, ինչը նրա մոտ միշտ անպակաս է:
Հետեւաբար Կարենից հեշտ ազատվելու միջոցն արդեն կար, եւ, ըստ ամենայնի, ոստիկանների հետ համաձայնեցրած' իրագործվել է նախապես պլանավորած սցենարը: Իսկ Ինդիրա եւ Անահիտ ընկերուհիները, ինչպես տեղեկացանք հեռուստատեսությունից եւ Արմավիր քաղաքի բնակիչներից, գտնվում են ոստիկանության «հովանավության» տակ' որպես «գործակալներ»: Նշենք նաեւ, որ մտերիմ ոստիկանները նրանց տեղափոխել են մեկ այլ բնակարան վերը նշված սկանդալների եւ կրակոցների պատճառով… Ավելորդ չէ նաեւ հիշատակել, որ այս գործով երբեւէ վկաների առերեսում չի կատարվել, չեն առերեսվել նաեւ Աշոտ Մանուկյանն ու Կարեն Օհանյանը:
